Well done Coffee. For us who don’t like to get their feet wet it’s interesting to see a bit of life across the water in this way. It’s nice to see too that others have been inspired to post their diaries, especially my dad (truckyboy) 'cos i never hear from him otherwise! I’ve no doubt you’ll say it wasn’t too difficult to do modest laddie that you are,so for a technophobe like me,how hard was it? Could you give us a rundown on the kit you used, how you actually put it together and how long it took to get the finished results? Cheers Neil

Kenny

Excellent Neil, really enjoyed watching it :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

No problem. It was all shot using a Panasonic digital camcorder, model NV-GS75. By the end of Tuesday I had around 1 hour 45 minutes of footage, which I sorted through and captured rough sections of to the computer, via a fire wire cable, into Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5.

I then used Premiere to edit the raw footage, add the various titles, sound effects and music which all took around ten hours as I kept changing things I wasn’t happy with and there was a lot of video to sort through.

The next part of the procedure was to export it from Premiere as a WMV file, it took the program about 25 minutes to render it and I did it twice, as the first time I wasn’t happy with the picture quality of the finished wmv. After changing the settings, I was happier with the second wmv and the final part was to upload it to the site that hosts the files and then to post the link here.
That left me nothing to do, so I am starting on another one.

Anyone any idea why I might not be able to stream, or download the file. When I try to view it by streaming after about 2 mins the browser just shows a message that says
Download Error

An unexpected error occurred while processing your download request. Please try again in a moment.

Contact us if you have any questions, and please include the URL of this document in your correspondence.

And if I try to download it I get a error window saying the site is either unavailible or can’t be found.

I’ve tried 3 or four times over the space of about 3 hours. Anyone any ideas? I shouldn’t have an issue with the size as I’m on broadband.

Cheers Mart

I think there is a problem with the hosting site at the moment, I can’t even view the files if I log into my account and try to run them from there. Hopefully the problem will be sorted soon.

As soon as the problem at streamload.com is resolved, then copy the wmv file(s) to your hard disk. After that they can be watched at any time, even if the computer is not connected to the Internet.

I copied them because they are worth keeping, some sort of commentary or voiceover would really bring them alive.

why does it never work for me!!!

what am i doing wrong.

It seems to be back up and running now.

For those that may be interested I have replaced the first film with a better quality one, same video just encoded at a better quality. It is about 15.5 Mb if you want to download it here..

 Even more cute 2nd clip.

The way you made the clip change when you changed gear. :arrow_right: :sunglasses:

Your dinner looked scrumptious. Had a salad today but it didn’t look like that. :frowning:

Ha. Ha. Cafe was closed.

What was the music? All i know is, it’s not Beethoven’s 5th symphony in C minor.

The music wouldn’t be something you know, I put it together in a program called Adobe Audition just for that clip.

WOW Very inpressive maginficent work!!! it is really enjoyable to watch movies!!!

Cheers for movies include the famous yellow and blue - it is eyecatch!!! good!!!

Thank you

Ben,

Neil, just to say BIG THANK YOU after I managed to get it right :ALL those people who have seen it and posted have all stated the how brillant, great

out,SO steven speilberg aka Coffeeholic we are waiting,

As always Neil, with either your diaries or the videos you’ve created for us, it’s top stuff. Very very impressed. Almost felt like I was double manning the job with you!

Cheers,
Paul.

Pete, glad they enjoyed it and I am sure there will be another one along soonere rather than later.

Yeti, thanks for the comments. Next time I need a second man I’ll give you a shout, now you have the experience.

works now ive a new puter great.

That is superb Coffee, excellent quality, thanks. Impressed by the route and local knowledge you obviously have gained over years of experience.

Would benefit greatly from a running commentary rather than having to read the clips. A good narrative would make all the difference to what is an excellent film.
