We’re only an hour down the road. Planners won’t send anyone in there that hasn’t got a 15 left, and we’ve had to pull them out before now.

Just one line, but it made me laugh like a drain! Good work Ched.

As for goods in staff then I’m firmly in the reverse physcology camp. NEVER NEVER let them sense your eagerness to get tipped/loaded, they thrive on it. I’ll quite happily spend all day waiting at places with my boots off and feet on the steering wheel. I might be seething inside but would never let on about it.

Once an hour I’ll phone my office to keep them informed and leave it to them to sort out. Quite often my office will ask me to wander into goods in to find out the score, but it’s important not to do this as the second you do you have officially lost the battle of wills and thus they can mess you about longer.

Nail. The. Head. Hit.

It’s important not to tar everyone with the same brush though, not all places are ■■■■■. U-pol at Wellingborough for example are fantastic, forky tips you faster than you can get your curtains open :open_mouth: regularly in there and out inside 15 mins for 26 pallets :exclamation:

tossers mate.
same at poundland normanton 2 weeks ago.arrived 1620 for a 1630 slot.
not even started at1900
told them to take the ramp off.
45 mins later i`m tipped and sat in the pub :sunglasses:

My record at poundland bilston was 7.75 hours. In a funny way it shortened my day as rest of my run was covered for me b

A regular thing at tesco snodland was the reply oh we dont have any room in the warehouse …
ummm didnt you know it was booked in ■■ its not like you didnt know it was coming and theres a clue in the name warehouse
also the ever popular theres ony two blokes tipping 20 bays, usually on a weekend after a home match

I enjoy pulling out of places that are taking the mick, however it’s not as easy when your collecting & waiting on a bay to be loaded. Few places I frequent have got wise to the threat of hauliers pulling out & as soon as you mention it they put a few pallets on the trailer. Que a lively debate along the lines of “take those pallets off & give me my keys - i’m going NOW”.

Ched:
Where I work all the goods in staff suddenly disappear as soon as they hear a truck pull up. The result? A queue of trucks spilling out in to the road. What is it with goods in staff? It’s their job to unload trucks and tbh if I was a goods in bod I would rather be sat on a forklift unloading trucks all day instead of doing a stock take.

I get genuinely embarrassed about my firm after I have finished my shift (after unloading myself) and I walk through the yard to hand my keys in and I see some driver standing about like a lemon looking for someone to unload him.

What can be done to get back at these goods in [zb]? If I have to unload myself I leave the pallets in daft places so it takes them more time to find the pallets than it would have to have just unloaded me in the first place.

Let’s take the war back to the goods in [zb] and stitch them up for a change.

Solidarity brothers! [zb] I’m drunk, going to be sick now, but you see my point, right?

There entitled to breaks as we are ,they do a hard physical job ,I just inform them I’ve arrived and wait patiently in my cab until there ready to tip me ,I really have never thought of would do / think of a way of getting back at them if I have to wait a hour or to ,get tipped,it’s part and parcel of my job which I fully accept

The beauty of working nights, never had a problem, so what if it takes 3 hrs to get tipped, paid by the hour, also getting arsey only prolongs things.
