Some of us will find ourselves in the same boat Vern, I think I’d act like a little girl so its heartening to see you looking on the positive side.
Hope you feel like keeping us on here in the loop , your experience will likely be a help to others, especially with your straight bs free posting style.

I did my whinging when I found out. I’m ready to go when the time comes. But not yet!
Typical truck driver.
Be late for your own funeral.

Here’s hoping!
You never know - they might decide to park you up and wait before tipping or even tell you to come back another time! That’s assuming your paperwork is all in order
I have nothing but admiration for you Verne , when I was diagnosed with cancer I was devastated , couldn’t sleep until one day I thought enough is enough . I got a grip and let the surgeons do their job , it was a long road but the day I went into remission I could have cried with relief . I know at some point it will return and I hope I can face it with the guts and dignity you have displayed . Keep on battling Verne and I hope you are around much longer than the prognosis . very best wishes , Dave .
Thanks for your kind words. Even though I can’t stop it, I’m still gonna crack on and get on with stuff. Whinging ain’t gonna do jack for me after all!

Geeeeez sometimes you read summat and all your own troubles fade into insignificance…
They certainly do. I spent a couple of weeks in RVI Newcastle last month and whilst lying in a torture bed with a stonking head-ache, thinking to myself “wtf happened there?!”, one young lad on the ward (there were 6 of us in varying degrees of disrepair) was given “the bad news”. Awful. It was the kick up the backside I needed after having a brain tumour removed (successfully) via through-the-skull surgery. No driving for a living for the next 2 years but hey ho.

Good stuff, your courage is admirable. Best wishes Vern.
Well obviously I’m still here. I had a CT scan 2 weeks ago to monitor the cancer. It hasn’t spread or shrunk at present, so I’ll take that as ■■■■ it and see.

That’s good news.

I haven’t read the full thread mate, and I won’t pretend to be any expert, (nor will I give you any unwanted facebook style pseudo sympathy crap either, as I do not know you, and I would not want it myself.)…
But there is always hope, and examples of such… look at Wilko Johnson the guitarist, Roger Daltrey’s mate, he was given weeks to live with cancer, about 5 years ago, he’s still performing today.
Closer to home, my Auntie, never smoked but diagnosed with lung cancer in1998, she still lives a good life today.
As I said mate, there is always hope in these cases.
Good luck with it,.and I really mean that …no b/s.
All the best BigVern I sincerely hope this is one booking slot your very late for. As others have said keep you Tn account mate some of the posts may make you smile .
I’ve not logged on this site for a long time. I pop on and see this thread and I had too. Vern I’m really sorry to hear this I always enjoyed the banter with you. Good luck fella and stay strong
