I’m gonna give it a go, so I’ve sent for my new work gear to go with the new lifestyle.
How do I look?

I gave up smoking about 13 years ago, simply because I didn’t enjoy it anymore. No craving, no problem.
I eat as and when, whatever I like. That includes kebabs, chips, salads, baked potatoes, pasta… just be sensible (not eating mcd or kebabs every day etc).

Giving up beer?
Why? What is the point of living if you have to deny yourself the things you enjoy? I rather die young, having enjoyed myself, than squeeze out a few more desparate years denying myself a bit of joy.

I’ve had a mild form of psoriasis since I was about 18, mostly on my elbows, sometimes the back of my hands, it just randomly comes and goes for no reason.
I’ve tried just about everything in terms of ointments and potions, so much so the skin on my elbows has become soft and sometimes bleeds…so keep away from me, I’m like a cross between The Singing Detective and a [zb] leper
The only thing that worked was a coal tar stick about 20 yrs ago, but it was taken off the market as a potential cause of cancer :open_mouth: .
Nowadays I’ve just learned to live with it and treat it when it gets really irritating.
But give up beer? Give up coffee? Give up the food I like? :open_mouth:

I like my social life too much thanks, you’ve got to live your life ffs, so I’ll just continue to deal with it.
However if it works for the o/p, and he’s happy with it, fair play to him.

Rob, my daughter often had psoriasis quite badly, a family friend who is also a sufferer recommended Hemp Creme, available from “The Body Shop”. It hasn’t cured it totally, but it does help her a great deal. Regards Kev.

Thanks for that mate, I’ll give it a go.

As Neil Young once said…‘‘It’s much more fun burning out than rusting’’

YT - great to hear you’ve got rid of your pain by giving up cigarettes and very interesting too to hear they can aggrevate IBS. Jimbo - useful also to learn stress can aggrevate psoriasis.

Donkey - I realised that while I thought I liked the taste of alcohol, actually I didn’t, and I knew I didn’t like hangovers or feeling tired. Once I realised those things it was a relief to give it up. But I totally respect your choice if you get something out of it. It’s a very personal thing.
