Girl Considering Truck Driving

Agreed, but you have to move on…

Have you heard of:

Drowning Pool?
Korn? - That video I linked
Pantera?
RATM?
etc…

Other “gayer” rock bands are also available!

Your on the right lines there Trog. A lot of blokes cant wait to ’ impress ’ women.

They seem to think they are on a Lynx advert or something.

Some of the lads at our place act like they have never seen a woman before,to the point its being a propper perv and embarrasing to be watch, chuff knows what the woman think  :unamused:

I work in Motorsport and I see exactly the same thing, I know the Grid and Promo girls are there to be looked at, but some blokes seem to lose it completely as soon as load of promo or grid girls turn up, I means unlike female truck drivers it’s not actually rare to see a grid or promo girl at a race meeting is it :open_mouth: .
personally I find it cringe worthy when some bloke starts slobbering round some poor young girl, that’s looks young enough to be his daughter or even granddaughter.
The girls who work in hospitality don’t fare much better, for us who work at the circuit going to sit down for a little while and enjoy the food, can be the highlight of the day and a bit of banter and a laugh with the girls who work there just helps, but some bloke seems to think a smile and chat means they’re “in”.
We did stop one old guy in his tracks though, we got the Italian hospitality girl to call him “nonno” he was pretty crest fallen when he found out what it meant.

yes and they’ve been around a while too as well (not as long as ac/dc of course, pantera 1983 for example)

who cares how long they’ve been around, rock/heavy metal to me is good/entertaining irrespective of 10/20/30/40 years

did I say: I also enjoy classical music :grimacing:

Classical music, God help us all. This thread is now abandoned and is no longer being posted on, everyone run and take cover!

Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Tr0otuiQuU

The closest thing to a rock track…

He really goes for it in the second half. I can just imagine him giving it large, standing up and headbanging as he plays! :grimacing:

Korn… wtf… isn’t that something you you eat to substitute real meat, like chewing on a rubber band…lmao…hope you don’t listen that ■■■■ in ya cab… do my head in listening to rubbish like that… but hey each to there own…lol

think nobodysdriving could be more age range for music like Duran Duran…Pet shop boys…Ahha… spandau ballet…etc etc :grimacing:

But going back to the original subject… I got no issue with persons of the opposite ■■■ within the industry, if they carry out all the tasks that a bloke can do whats the issue, so they gonna have to tolerate the bad language, the sexist BS & some in proper advances by blokes but hey if there thick skinned enough, there’ll be alright

Are we having a 3some? :open_mouth:

And yes I would listen to Korn thanks! Seen them twice, Download and Brixton Academy… :grimacing:

As for the 80’s bands you mention, none of them had stood the test of time, unlike the rock bands!
You don’t hear someone playing a Spandau Ballet album…

But what you say is so true, its funny how it seems, i’m always behind the time, but never on time to deliver. I’m normally head over heels going toe to toe, but hey, that is the sound of my soul…

yup I agree, need a ‘thick skin’ indeed in this job :grimacing:

aaaahhhh yes

need to get back to donington, when I used to go it was ‘monsters of rock’

my son and I spent some time in the indoor cinema too watching Austin Powers

anyway, yes back to ‘topic’ (what was it again■■? )

Well if anything, I have we have shown that amoungst some, there is no prejudice against women! :grimacing:

Unless they make us look bad! :smiling_imp:

ah yes: women lorry drivers or women who want to drive lorries, that was the topic  :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

Evil have I been replaced

To answer your question nobodysdriving ig was her I was afraid of. I felt I could not talk to her as I wanted to (just another driver) because the other drivers behaved like juveniles and it was so embarrassing. They would make a big show of running up to her unit when she pulled in the yard and almost beg her to let them help. Shame really as sbe was a biker like me and I would have just invited her to go riding with us as we have a few girls who ride at weekends etc. I also did not want to be labelled as in the desperate drivers club.

AC/DC not been the same since Bon Scott died sorry Brian is ok nice guy but hey

I will be going to see Def Leppard Whitesnake & Black Star Riders in dec with my son we did go see Bon Jovi a few years back son has liked them for over 20years now have seen them a few times especially in the early days met them a couple times

Daughter went to Download a few years back

It was my kids that introduced me to the likes of Drowning Pool Korn etc

Son was at Wacken metal festival last year this year he is doing Bloodstock next year back to Wacken

I can take some men sometimes they have offered but I normally tell them it is ok but thanks sometimes I just stand back & watch them I have offered help to some people when they look like they need it

I would rather have men company too due to not having a tv & if the women want to talk about the soaps I would be lost

Just reminded me must look up Cheryl Cole ( as got told I should like her )

I agree re: ac/dc not the same since

I have 2 tvs at home but I never ever watch any of them, I work far too much to be interested (though I spend time on here  )

Running [zb] she must of been something special to get middle aged, overweight, truck drivers running, :open_mouth:

But it’s a it’s a shame you didn’t feel you could talk to her, I’m sure she would of appreciated being talked to like a work colleague.

But you can’t argue with Alder’s reasoning for not going over to talk to here.
As if blokes can take the mickey out of another bloke for talking to a woman, they will.
You just have to look back in this tread where I got teased for exactly that…

" Saucer of milk for table 5! :grimacing: "

Personally I’m still chuckling about that, but some others may be mortified by such a comment…

So to the ladies out there, just because some men give you the cold shoulder, it may have nothing to do with you.
It may well be the fear that man has, that he will have the mickey taken out of him by other blokes.

I stay in a B&B pub when I’m working at the workshop, a lot of builders stay there, it’s amazing how many laughingly protest when he barmaid sticks her favourite soaps on the telly, but how many then stick gripped to it and know whats been going on, I think they protest to much.

Evils a big girl really that’s why, so all please feel free to take the micky out of him :stuck_out_tongue:
