One thing that worked for me only once but you never know. I trawled the tinterweb for hauliers in the midlands made a list and phoned them all. A couple of them asked if i could pop in to pick up an application form and a chat, luckily I was on a 12 week agency stint at the time delivering timber and the run they put me went straight past the yard of said company the next day(coincidence maybe or because none of their regular drivers like going to the asian building merchants in brum)so i popped in the truck and all. Although i was in a rigid at the time it goes down well that you’re willing to multitask so to speak. I started for them two weeks later and am still here 
all you can do is keep trying i’d been doin agency work for 18months after leaving the army and had found it hard. But dont give up before i started here i was on 5 different agencies struggling for 3 days work a week because of my age and inexperience. Keep at it mate all the best
