Of course it does, you need to keep 28 days records plus the one you are using with you, it works the other way, if you drive an analogue equipped truck you must carry the digital card if you have had one issued, whether it has been used or not.

I just didn’t pick them up that day, I didn’t have anything to hide, hadn’t done anything dishonest- just got a little disorganised/complacent. Won’t be a problem now though as I’m only driving on my card from here onwards (new job).

Last time I got pulled I sat in the queue busy scribbling three days entries on to my log sheets. 
ive been an owner driver 5 years had 2 site visits and been pulled 4 times including last moday j3 m5.I was empty nothing wrong with my truck when i passed them at j1,they over took me up slope passed j2 no lights on slowed down to 50 mph,so i over took them again (quite funny).They came past again lights on follow me.Just checking drivers hours today can i have your last months tachos please,got them out checked my licence see you later have a nice day.
