So why not use Peter Smyth as he does have a good rep
Phone him & speak to him
I did my CE with John at Flair in Chelmsford & can recommend him as well
OK, fair enought Pete does have a good rep on here, so when the time comes I’ll give him a call also.
Suggest you look at this:

Pete

Passed the hazard perception this morning 89/100, well chuffed, one step closer [emoji1]
Well done. Like you say, one step closer.
Pete

Another step done, passed my module 1a today with 91 out of 100 so chuffed again. So mod’s 1a & 1b done.
Now that i’ve done Mod 1, as a 1994 C1 driver can I go straight for the 35hrs CPC now to allow me to work the 7.5t ? or do I still need to do Mod 2 ?
You can do either. I suggest the 35 hours and get some of that credited from your driver training course. Then do tachos/drivers’ hours as a minimum before you hit the outside world.
Pete

Thanks Peter, was looking at this one on the 14th March. scania.co.uk/driver-training/course-diary/
Steve.
One more thing Peter, If I was to do the 35hrs & then eventually my class 2, say in the next 12 months, would the 5 years start again from passing my class 2 ?

If you had done the 35 hours of CPC and got your DQC then the 7 hours you gain from your accredited course would be banked towards your next 5
EG I had my CPC valid from date of passing C until October 2020
I then did 35 hours CPC last week which made my CPC valid until 2025
If I had done only 7 hours it would be banked for my next requirement
Excellent thank you NickW88
First 7 hours done of my CPC, over at Scania MK, not a bad venue £75.00 including upload fee & vat.
Bacon buttys & buffet lunch included, but make sure you arrive early as the bacon had gone 08:45 (09:00 course start).
Training was sufficient, I learnt a few things, record was updated to DVSA within about 48 hours.
Looking to book my next 7 hour session in the next couple of weeks.

Sorry, not read the history in it’s entirety…
Have I missed it? I didn’t see where you knew how many CPC days you were getting with your class C practical training, it should be at least 2 if you do a intense course… That so far gives you 3, and basic CPC modules are burnt money, as they return no value. So IF you are happy you’re clued up with other bits like Driver Hours/Tacho, I’d have thought the ADR option should have/could be an option to get those remaining credits. A full course is work 4 days (28 hours) and includes tanks. You can do it without tanks for less money with 3 days worth of credits, but I did the lot, and don’t regret it!
I’ve found it opens more doors on the agencies, and when on a gig where some runs are ADR, they get rid of the non ADR guys first…

Yes it’s a plug people!
I’m not writing it twice!
Evil8Beezle - the ADR post you linked to looks just the job, but I’m gonna have to read it tomorrow, got to get things finished off at work.
Quick one though, the only reason I’ve intended on individual CPC days, is down to affordability, but in a nutshell do training providers do just the core (3 days, I think) & then I could possibly do individual modules when I can afford them ■■
Cheers
Steve.

The post will answer that…
But in a nutshell, you HAVE to have the core to be able to add the classes, which you want/need to carry that class. in any capacity…
Whether you can carry that in tanks, is the only option…
Read the post mate, as DieselDave is the expert on here!
Its been a while & my eye has been off the target.
I’ve now booked my 2nd of 5 CPC, getting there slowly.
My focus has changed slightly, am still gonna do some 7.5t work once I have my DCQ to save enough.
Have looked at the stobart training…£2880 for the full course.
Anyone have any views. ?
It may surprise you to know that Stobarts are not accredited by DVSA for LGV training.
The list of accredited training centres is here dft.gov.uk/fyn/lgv.php
Although price is obviously a factor in selecting your trainer, make sure you visit and look at the vehicles, meet the trainers, see the reversing area. Is the driving test conducted from the training centre?
Not all training is the same.
Pete

Well its been about a year since I last posted on here, but been dipping in & out.
Over the past 12 months I’ve done my 5 days CPC & have got the card now.
I did about 6 months work for UPS over the xmas period to gain a bit of logistics knowledge.
But I’m very chuffed to have landed a 12 month contract with a pallet distribution firm 5 mins from my house & as a bonus, I’m on the driver development scheme, so 7.5t work for the next six months & then onto the class 2
Starts range from about 4:30 through to 7am.
I’ll keep updating the thread as I progress.
Steve.
