Gassed as he slept in his cab

I call BS. Seven years at university for an anaesthetist and some scrote manages to put you to sleep with a can of easy start through your night heater outlet.
Margin of error is miniscule, too much and you’re dead and I don’t remember many drivers being found dead in there cabs having been administered too much.
Not convinced.

the other topic is better so hopefully time for a merge??
however…theres a lot of it about.
obviously they dont use medical grade gas as it costs money ,but fire extinguishers and a hose from your car are plentiful and your average taliban is a crafty devil.
look and learn.

Yes another great sensational read, the families in caravans say they thought they have been gassed, no professional evidence or a professional opinion of this. :unamused: The opinion of gassing someone with a fire extinguisher is even more ridiculous. The noise of the extinguisher been set off would certainly not startle anyone would it or does it knock you out before you hear it

What are you talking about■■? It’s been going on for years in France, usually in the Aires. Utter nonsense, you’re a fool!!! Talk about something you know about, or don’t comment at all!!!

Pot kettle and black spring to mind.
Tales such as this are and always have been complete ■■■■■■■■.

That’s the thing, if these gas attacks were happening on the scale claimed, then you would expect there to have been numerous deaths caused by them. I cannot recall one single death claimed to have been caused by the introduction of gas into a lorry cab or motorhome. Nor have I ever seen a parking area littered with empty cans of Easy Start.

The only fatal gassing I can recall was in France. A motorhome had reversed into a muddy bank and blocking the vehicle exhaust or vents and the family were killed due to carbon monoxide poisoning.

Who rattled your cage■■?

You did. Seems you think you have plenty of experience and knowledge of this, so lets hear it.
Or as you say, don’t comment.

A spokeswoman said: “Although the victim reported feeling unwell and the company feared he may have been gassed, paramedics sent to the scene did not identify any respiratory problems.

“The man was taken to hospital as a precaution after officers attended the scene and confirmed there were no signs of gas being used.”

South Yorkshire police said it had no reports of any alleged gas attacks.

I always thought it was made up by drivers that spent all the running money in the bag house or bar

I won’t bother commenting, you ‘high and mighty’ folk are always right. Even when you’re wrong!! Idiot

I am still waiting for a considered response that shows how this noxious substance is administered. Throwing a child’s cuddly toy around doesn’t normally create a poison gas.

Sprayed into the air intake on the night heater. Years back when many night heaters were retro fitted these were easier to find, but anyone with any truck knowledge will know where they are.

The air intake is on the end of the night heater, easily identifiable by the odd sock and various coloured pubic hairs obscuring it, the outlet at the other end is where warm air comes out to heat the drivers cab. I presume you think the two 3/4” pipes are the air intake and air outlet. These two balanced pipes are the exhaust and air intake for the combustion chamber which is sealed. Fuel is pumped towards the combustion chamber and ignited by a glow plug.

The burning fuel transfers energy to the heat exchanger which warms the circulatory air already in the cab.

Two of my lorries had gas night heaters running off cylinders on the chassis and my fridge ran off another gas cylinder. I boiled my eggs and kettle on a gas stove and as far as we know. I came to no harm.

Maybe I am being a bit thick here but every truck we have ever had with a night heater, all eberspachers but I think webasto are much the same, only reheated / recycled the air already in the cab. Any air drawn from the outside through the little approx. 25mm diameter pipe was used to burn the diesel inside the unit, the exhaust gasses then go out through the other 25mm pipe. It is “room sealed”, similar to your gas boiler at home except it heats the air not water.
If someone did spray easystart, up that heater air intake I would think there would be a distinct possibility of either the heater blowing up, or flames coming back down the pipe.
(Don’t try this at home :unamused: )

If that was the case, how would it end up in the cab? The combustion chamber is vented to the outside of the cab, there is no connection between the external air intake and the hot air outlet inside the cab.

I’m still waiting for that explanation Harry. I sent the considered reply to Eberspacher. Don’t expect a speedy reply! [emoji23]

As has been mentioned elsewhere, do you believe an expert from the Royal College of Anaesthetists who has a doctorate and no reason to lie or do you believe some silly fat ■■■■ in a Tesco RDC who also claims to have just missed the Herald and was the second one through the embassy window

Eberspacher Customer Service opened my email at 07.47 this morning. I imagine they are still rolling around on the floor [emoji23][emoji23]
