Future prediction

While sat up front on a Boeing C17 transporter, the windscreen in front of the air crews vision was lit up with all the flight information required, glide paths, and so on,navigation, would this happen one day with a sat nav style display being projected on to a truck windscreen, whereby it does not affect the drivers vision, perhaps a square foot display lower down in the corner.
Another opinion,is all paperwork to be done away with a micro chip inserted in the skin, that has all the details of a passport, driving licence, banking, that can be scanned anywhere.Think how many forms have to be sent off for daily life,to keep an office bod in work.

that sounds great for freedom

Like a dog chip.

Great idea, maybe it could have a GPS tag so that the Government could keep tabs on where everybody is. :unamused: :unamused:

And criminal records, blood type, medical notes, all in one place.

One day,it will be in all new trucks, low bridge warnings, weight limits all up there to see.

Having a “dog chip”, complete with GPS is an outstanding idea. :smiling_imp: It would, of course, be linked to a built in phone, ipod etc (other options may be available) and be a complete security item. Can’t start your truck unless you have the right chip, no need for credit cards as all info will be inside you. I am sure you could include some sort of punishment probe that would give you a zap if you thought about doing wrong. I think I will patent this idea… oops too late arrrgh!!! :smiling_imp:

future prediction■■?
could not be a prediction unless it was the future, the clue is in the word PREDICTION - A statement of what will happen in the future :arrow_right:

But what if youre thinking of making a prediction later…that would be a future prediction

Anyway my prediction…truck drivers will one day be appreciated by all other members of society, and every town will have clean free parking with reasonably priced restaurants where waitresses bring food to your table.

NURSE, COME QUICK, my medication is wearing off

Not heard about Reading council that have said truckers do not buy cups of tea in their town, and have decided to get a loan for cameras to record number plates in their truck ban.
You do get waited on in european truck stops, the staff have uniforms, the tables have clean white linen on them,a decent drivers menu, with coffee, desserts and pudding.Free parking, but they are slowly charging us to park, and erected barriers,or get free parking with fuel or buy a meal.
Barbeziuex truck stop in France is doing this, barrier entry, hotel there for drivers, they do not allow trailer cooking to go on there.Lyon,is a pay park for high value goods, but the MSA next door is free.

I was thinking along those lines and also in the future drivers will develop their own common sense and maybe even be able to go away for weeks at a time and fix their own lorries if they breakdown. to take it a step further they may develop the skills to map read, replace bulbs and even change wheels.

Nurse Nurse…

Now your talking fantasy … that’ll never happen

They may take off their hi-viz when having a meal too!!

They’ve already had Bellendtronic fitted for years.

My old Merc S Class used to have that fitted. I think some Chryslers have it fitted as well, just speed and turn information etc.

Methods of on-glass projection have been used in aircraft, in basic forms, since WWII.

and what we are doing, so that they can tax us on it, ■■?

Well lets assume that a driver will actually be needed as technology will make the role of a person sitting behind the wheel a thing of the past…

Do you think they’ll still make us wear yellow?

If you have a mobile phone, then you already have a tracker!
