Nice one! Bet it was very satisfying to be proven right. Too many companies know how difficult and time consuming it can be to take them to court and so just assume you won’t bother.
…It was thanks. Its a lot of faffing about to get the paperwork spot on but as you say they know most people won’t bother.
It seems to have been bad judgments made by a tired mind. Wtd is there to supposedly stop this. You admit to having already used up all reduced rest for the week. Keep going like this and you’ll end up in either a cell or something more restrictive and wooden. Money isn’t everything mate.

Yea, need to grow a pair.
Also may be worth investing in a call recording app.
I presume this is Tesco. Although, I could be wrong. Usually their office staff are promoted from the warehouse and know [zb] all about driver regs.
It is you who decides what time you finish. It is also you who is responsible.
I remember once finishing at like 14:52 working time. That is the only time I have been within 1 hour of going over my time.
I knew it was going to be tight when I accepted the job but I was not expecting the extra traffic and someone trying to break into my trailer. But I was prepared to pull over if needed and phone them up saying I can not drive anymore, company policy or not.
Trust me, that isn’t tesco, I’ve worked for them for 10 years & never heard them speak to drivers like that, it wouldn’t be tolerated.
Tesco has its faults but being spoken to/treated like [zb] isn’t one of them.
You never want to make a habit of getting infringements. I haven’t had one in a fairly long time.
I also never rush. This is a big one. Just do not do it. It is also a tough mindset to get into if your used to rushing. But, just learn to relax, it takes as long as it takes. I can not really stress enough how important this is. Because it is only a matter of time before another mistake happens due to you rushing.
In my 5+ years of driving a HGV I have only clipped a fence and knocked over a bollard. Both when I was quite new at driving due to me rushing. Even now, I often get out and look while reversing. Because it is not worth the extra hassle of hitting something.
But as for your options… Find another job.
I can tell you what I would do though.
I would ask to speak to the operator licence holder for the depot. Hopefully you can speak to him and explain that the traffic office are knowingly pushing drivers to going over their tacho hours. He/She if they have any sense will give a [zb] because it will be them who get the bollocking.
But again… this is an issue it seems of you not saying no. If I was the operator holder the first thing I’d ask you is “Why did you not tell them that your going to go over your hours!?”
“They told me to” Is not a great answer.
Sorry is this is a bit harsh but I can tell you now the DVLA do not accept “THEY MADE ME DO IT” as a good excuse. Even if they did. It is your ■■■ on the line, so ultimately you need to take responsibility.
Trust me, that isn’t Tesco, I’ve worked there for 10 years & never been spoken to like that & it wouldn’t be tolerated.
Tesco has its faults but being spoken to like ■■■■ isn’t one of them.

I was in Tesco Purfleet a few years back and one of the warehouse loaders was in the office trying to explained why he hadn’t done something or other. I’ve no doubt he was swinging the lead up to a point. But the manager chewed his ■■■ off in front of the crowded office. She was demanding a minute by minute breakdown of his day. He more than likely deserved the roasting, but not in front of all & sundry.
The office doubles as the drivers check-in/waiting area, so it was filled with 3 party suppliers. Very unprofessional imo.
