Lemme drive down to my local petrol station and watch that pump price collapse.
But the the government has already told everyone that it intends do whatever it takes to put fossil fuel out of use including punitive pricing. This is what everyone voted for.
What was pointed out to me recently, (I admit not being the sharpest tool in the box) that the windfall the Government have made on rising fuel prices will more than offset any reduced tax decrease. This is because tax is a percentage of the price paid, therefore the higher the price, the more the tax.

The government has imposed numerous stealth taxes on NI and pensions etc.
The duty on fuel is fixed but the VAT increases pro rata as a 20% percentage of the price.Which includes VAT on the carbon tax.
It’s all a rip off to avoid income tax on very high earners like MPs.
What I don’t understand is that to produce petrol or diesel you need Geologists to find the raw material then vast refineries to create the fuel.
Vast ships costing millions to transport it around the globe and drivers on top dollar to deliver it to the forecourt.
YET, our other popular liquid:- Beer, just needs some plant leaves/flowers (possibly a drop of sugar) and clean water. mix it all up, leave it for a week or so and then you can sell it for twice+ the price of Petrol with Kuehne & Nagel delivering it on minimum wage - and no-one complains
Wheel Nut:
It should be over £5 per litre in central London, there is no need for anyone to own a car.
Don’t talk crap, I lived in London … still needed a car… nearest tube was 2 miles away … plus, why shouldn’t I of had a car… ? … not everyone lives in central london with a 5 min head way on buses and mass train network … some peop,e have no tube anywhere near them ….
If anything that tramps up north running around in old T reg W reg etc … should be banned.
Girl next door to my girl has just got a Nissan Leaf , the home charging point is just attached to a fence post in the car parking yard at the back of the houses , is there a code / card for these as even though it’s her numbered ■■■■■■■■■■■■ I just wondered what to stop anyone plugging into it whilst she’s out to work
