If you look historically though diesel prices always go up in the winter don’t they? Something to do with the fact that there is high demand for oils for heating pushing the prices up. I know there are also other factors now like the oil price rising and increasing duty too, of course, but I think the cold weather will be playing a big part in it.
On a related note the price of LPG Autogas at the pumps has skyrocketed from low 60’s ppl to mid to high 70’s in the last month since it went cold. I can only assume that is due to increased demand for the stuff for heating. It means LPG costs about the same now as petrol did 9 years ago when I had my Land Rover converted. At the time I could get LPG for 29.9ppl…

LPG price is pegged directly to the price of diesel & petrol…so as both of them rise in price, the LPG rises by exactly the same amount. I uised to own an LPG Jeep but it became a waste of space as the prices went ever-higher.
History tells me that Fuel Card Co Keyfuels card @ £1.10,75ppl is the dearest diesel I would ever have bought, thats what they have quoted me for next week
Shell is over £1.08ppl & UK Fuels around £1.05 something. Would someone get me a job out of transport FFS
Gridley51:
BP at Forth Road bridge 110.55 on the 29th Dec.
Is this 3.5p increase that`s coming just duty or duty plus vat?
afaik it’s duty + Vat
I’ve got Keyfuels at 109.42 and FCS BP at 111.04
however there’s a murco garage just off M5 J25 with a pump price of 123.9 ( 105.45) - that was yesterday though !
The duty rise is .076 ppl (which will be rounded up to 1 pence by everyone i expect) and then you have your 2.5% VAT rise from 4th January , although the VAT rise doesnt really matter to most on this forum
My 3 cards are around 108p you just gotta keep going till it’s not worth doing anymore. No chance of putting the rates up anytime soon. Just make sure all the finance is paid off and you can jack having had a good innings. Fuel will keep going up and up steadily but surely, no doubt about it.
Sounds like you all need to go to Forecourt Fuels and get a Total card off them. That card of mine seems to be the cheapest anyone puts on here almost every week.

After seeing your prices each week i thought that would be a sound idea, and tried to get one, unfortunately they refused to deal with me as I have a card with an associate company (Smart) and as such they are not allowed to talk to me unless my account with Smart has been idle for 4 months.
FFS £1.08.87 is the cheapest of my three this week, had the old FH re-mappers back in over fuel consumption & its averaged 6.55mpg this week & I’ve not been over 35t gross
