It gets better…
First day back after a week off and,
They’ve introduced a competition kind of thing where if, your have consistent good fuel figures,
(probably meaning exceeding fuel targets that then will be moved further out of your reach
)
You win a £1000 first prize,
£500 second,
And an ipad or pod for third.
Another gimmick? ? ?
P.S. someones been tinkering with my truck
, it currently reads 76MPG!!!
Goldfinger:
Perfect example of moving the goal posts…
We have Transit connects for the mobile fitters. At first they wanted you to reach 20MPG, first time the results came out, they were getting 40ish MPG.
So they’ve now decided to set the target to 45MPG!
I don’t even think it states that in the vans own manual - and these guys carry god knows how many Kg’s in tools too!!!
Take the mpg’s back down to 20 then, they’ll soon realise it’s costing them a lot more by stiffing you on the fuel bonus

We had a suggestion box at work for money saving ideas, the overall winner would get a prize of $1000.
I put in as my entry…award the winner $500, this would instantly save you $500

Brilliant you snidy git, bet you win
Goldfinger:
‘…Who’s on this kind of scheme…?’
Not directly, but Telematics could be argued to present a bigger picture of performance, which as we know is quantified into a number for potential reward by one’s master.
I’m averaging a Telematic score 97% so am well up for the idea …
I understand that drivers achieving 100% at my place get recognised somehow, but I don’t know how: Even if it’s a ‘get-out-of-jail-free’ credit against a client/motorist complaint or a similar infringement or foul-up I’d be happy at that
Allocate a single vehicle to a driver for a year.
All knocks and bumps no matter how slight then are down to that driver.
Let the bonus be worked out by how much it costs to keep such a tractor in a good state of repair. If the driver elects to have an older tractor for that year, his liability of losing bonus is reduced by the lower fix costs of running an older tractor in a good state of repair to begin with. Damage fixed under warrantry doesn’t count against.
Mr “Leave it to the agency bod to get the blame for my latest scratch” would object of course, but I can’t see many others doing so!

Have you seen how many drivers smack other peoples vehicles, either when manouvering or when opening their doors etc?
