jessicas dad:
no they really confused me for a while till i was loading where they kept there lorries and were talking to one of their drivers, totally different company and a bit of a fly by night sort of thing.

We always used to refer to them as either ‘Leeds Devanney’ or ‘Bradford Devanney’. A guy I used to do Swiss with went to ‘Bradford Devanney’ to do the Stuttgart groupage run and tried getting me to go over to, so when I called Tommy he offered me the Strasbourg run but it would have involved me shipping out on a Sunday, getting back to Bradford on Wednesday night, having Thursday off, driving all the way back to Bradford on Friday from Barton upon Humber to load the trailer, having Saturday off and then shipping back out on Sunday. I would never have got a full 45 in if done legally so obviously Friday was supposed to be either off card or having Thursdays date on the card and the cost of travel would have been silly so I didnt bother. The friend who did work there later broke down in Germany and needed a new clutch and had to pay for it on his own Visa card and trust that Devanney would pay him back on his return! Like you say, sounded like a dodgy outfit and while I’d probably have enjoyed the work, you cant afford to run like that these days.

Lookin very nice, a job well done there JD :sunglasses:

You need to get out more mate

Own Account Driver:
The putting a trim on the drive axle works looks-wise I think as well.

You’d be wrong. That is all.

GasGas:
If you do paint a wheel, never paint the stud holes or the part that faces the hub at the back, unless you want the wheel to fall off the next week.

Ahhh yes… “In China, wise man never paints his nuts!!” :grimacing:

Nice work,my own rim’s are getting shabby now. Did you actually do it as you describe above, how did you get the old corrosion off?

I use a drill with a wire brush attachment to clean up the best I can then some sandpaper and then spray. The n/s/f is crap but that was in a bad way best the rest was ok and cleaned up well.
