I would opt for the Volvo FH range with the I Shift auto ‘box’…we run Scania’s with the auto and manual gearboxes and i prefer the Volvo over all of them…we get approx 1mpg more out of them over the Scanny pulling fridge trailer’s…we do supermarket deliveries and some of the loading bays are a bit tight and the automatic Volvo is spot on for slow control when reversing and the visability in excellent…we also run Daf XF’s and they are ok as well,but not as comfortable as the Volvo…i might get shot down here…but there is always the Renault Magnum with the Volvo running gear which will be a fraction of the price of the Volvo,but with the same running gear.
