Quoting Orys ‘Christmas have nothing to do with it’. Christmas has everything to do with it.Bank holidays, not many loads to go anywhere. People on extended breaks over the festive season.Doesn’t matter when the Russian Christmas falls. The fact is,he was stuck here during our Christmas.

But there weren’t his Christmas. So he was sitting here, doing nothing, being paid (I suppose) and still got home for Christmas

There can be few things that are more grim than being weekended in the UK. Absolutely no proper facilities and if there are they are priced beyond any reason. You’re not allowed to bobtail off card to access other facilties and live like any other normal human being so you’re crammed in the cab living out of boxes in a layby etc. I used to get weekended regularly in Folkestone but thats right in the old harbour by the town centre. Anywhere else, I wouldn’t have entertained the idea.

Folkstone harbour (the old hoverport) is… or was one of the best nights out in the country, not many places like this now.
I spent many a night out there over many years, the last night out there about a year and a half ago…
Swimming Pool, Sauna and Showers for £5 in the Hotel 10 meters opposite the entrance, it also had WiFi and computers, a bit further round the corner was the outdoor Seafood bar… those fresh fried mussels with chilli and fried noodles… my mouth is watering just typing this out… in the morning you could have tasty ‘greasy’ breakfast under the Archway… and if you got week-ended there… it was wall to wall girls and loads of pubs all within 5 minute walk… (or a 20 minutes stagger :grimacing: ) back to your truck. :stuck_out_tongue:

I had a delivery to the hotel last year, manage to get put up in the hotel for the night, used the pool and sauna and got given a card for cheap beer at the hotel bar, felt out of place in the hotel bar with having my own hips though
