For fifteen minutes a day

My proposal to stop all this “Elephant racing” would be to allow trucks to exceed there limited speed to 60 mph for only fifteen minutes in a 15 hour period.

There should be a huge red button in the cab which you press when you cant overtake the driver you have caught up over the past 200 miles. It should also have a digital countdown timer on it or perhaps in a cool HUD…

Then you could pass with ease and give them the middle finger ( thats if they are not hiding behind the curtains )

But a down side i suppose would be when you went to the garage, instead of saying can you make it go faster (in a voice like you have suffered a brain injury )you would say " That 15 minute thing only lasts for 12 "

But it would be like having a “overdrive Button” again …

Wheres my beer …

but the ■■■■■■ you are struggling to pass would…press his red button too

So you press the Big Red Button, sail alongside the other driver giving him the finger.
He thinks ‘reet ya dobber’, hits his Big Red Button.
Then thats the two of you, elephant racing, at 60mph :unamused:

That is very true, but thats where the game starts proper !! because who has used a part of there 15 mins already? maybe he or you only have 12.3 mins left …

Any way i am off to the Dragons Den to make meself a fortune a fortune a tell ya !!

Yeah, and while you’re in the RDC telling the other drivers about the time you were cutting the rope bridge deep in the Borneo jungle, your mate will be in your cab re-wiring your Big Red Speedlimiter Button into your ejector seat button.

I had a similar idea to this years ago, but a button that would give you 60 seconds at 65mph, then be unable to activate again for 15 minutes.

I cannot remember the last time i was in a RDC waiting room … thank ■■■■ !! , however i do have to put up with drivers on eurotunnel and on the other crossings and there rubbish bull crap stories …

I would love this to appear as a great BS story a bit like winding your legs up and pink chalk and 12ft shark in the back of a fridge.

Sound like great fun. A game of strategy and tactics. New from Waddingtons…

I already play that game. I like to call it ‘pulling fuse 34’.

Would of helped me out yesterday. Passed a slow wagon in two lane stretch of roadworks. He then creeped up my inside and matched me so that at the end of the roadworks I was in the outside lane.and there I stayed until I slowed down enough to pull in behind him. And yes as I moved into lane 2 he decided to brake test me. Mr Morris, balloon. Maybe I should repaint my wagon.

All yer need to do is back off a tad when someone is passing you…But I generally stick to 50 - 52 and everyone just goes by :sunglasses: Relaxing, more time to concentrate on the tunes :sunglasses:

Doing that would make a mockery of speed limits, someone has estimated that 60mph is the maximum speed that it is safe for a HGV to do taking a number of factors into account, if the button allowed you to do say 65 then you could say well if its safe to do 65 for 15 minuites then when cant i do it all day and so forth

RTNH

FFS dont tell me wagon about this new button, It get scared when moving into 12th, she thinks we’re going down hill when the speedo reads 54 :smiling_imp:
My boss even think my overdrive is broke, afterall Washy overtakes me lol

I think you should have the limiter removed, but a front tyre detonates if you hit 61.
That’ll keep you on your toes

What’s the shark in a fridge story? I’ve never heard of it,anyone enlighten me? I love a bit of jackanory
