Back on track Buzzer, that one definitely is a Foden.
Easy mistake to make with that kite mark so similar, took me in too and only after Larry’s comment did I have a faint recall moment.

I like the double mirror arms on that one, rare in that day and age I think when vibration was a regular feature.

Would I guess than an 8 wheeler float was a bit unusual?

Driven new from Ballidon quarry, Derbyshire, by the late Malc Gallimore. Yet another Gardner that I rebuilt!

Here’s another one Pete, while you’re on a roll. No prizes for guessing who was on the end of the CB mic in this lorry 10 4

Haha, ‘Big Tilly’ alias Geoff Land! His was the first new Foden we had with that type of cab. Another trucker long gone alas, I visited him about a week before he died (cancer) and it was sad to see him wasted away like that when I remember how strong he used to be but I’m glad that I went. A good footballer as well, apparently he had trials with Blackburn Rovers when he was young. He was related to Loxley’s of Bonsall who he drove for until they closed and then came to work for Tilcon on a new Sed Ak 200 four wheeler.

Foden demonstrater travelling through Buxton on the way to (I believe?) Tunstead quarry. They were not a success and only a handfull made.

Interesting, do you know why that was Pete?
