Hi Buzzer, Thanks for posting the two S21 Foden tippers, My cousin bought the one on the right, Larry

What is the box with tow jaw?
Edit on a 2nd look I realise it was probably bolted direct to chassis for tipper tugging?

Just saw this advert on tv for a coffee company from Ammanford featuring an old 8 wheeler.

At this, the irrate Foden picked up the cheeky MANs by the scruff of the neck and threatened to bang their heads together!

Silver Roadways, loads of backloads off them back in the day, many more than I saw of their wagons on the road, in fact in the early years I thought they were just a clearing house. :unamused:

They were owned by Tate and Lyle of course, I’m guessing they were run as a seperate concern though?

Pete.

In my early days as an owner driver Silver Roadways were one of the best for backloads and even work when you were short.
Paid well and even after 30 days IIRC

Robsons only operated from one traffic office----- Carlisle ! But they used agents up and down the UK and in particular they were well involved with Silver Roadways particularly in Liverpool . Cheers Dennis.
