Fit/Seizure/Blackout

TruckerMart:
Well following a recent EEG it turns out I was possibly misdiagnosed, and due to the fact they are not 100% sure I even had a seizure in the first place, I need to go and speak to my specialist about coming off these tablets and go from there. I am in a situation that I am unsure of where I actually stand at the moment

Get the consultant on your side and spend some time to see if he will write letters in your favour or you are definately not going anywhere , but I bet he wants to see you off the tablets for a long time first…and the thing you have to ask yourself if you were in his/ her position would you gamble on being part of the decision that could possibly cause a serious RTA and compromise your professional status and a case to answer to the general medical council ?

Their job is difficult, and at times ■■■■ impossible…(My other half is a Spinal consultant). I have spent ages trying to get a licence back with her help and all that happened was they took away my C1 licence also, my heart condition will kill me eventually but at least 10 yrs off according to the best their is, and I am not allowed anything more than a car licence.
Good luck…

Sorry to bring up an old thread again. After 4 years from having my first seizure i requested to come off my tablets to which my neurologist agreed. I was off them for 8 weeks doing really well with no instances. 5 nights ago i woke at 4.30am with 3 paramedics and my mrs stood at the bottom of my bed. Id had another one unbeknown to me. I was completely unaware and totally disorientated. It all felt like a dream. I was then whisked away to hospital for a few hours. Anyway i am back on my tablets and currently trying to recover as yet again i have done my back in and my tongue is in a mess.

Thanks for reading
