I was told to remove the card overnight and make a manual entry in the morning. Apparently, leaving it in caused issues with Tachomaster; nothing illegal but it showed up something which the compliance auditors (god how I hate them) didn’t like. It’s a habit which has remained with me..
Leaving it in doesn’t raise any issues with Tachomaster/compliance (provided you remember to enter your Start and End country each day - which is easy to overlook if you’re not ejecting your card…)

I’ll take your word for it; but that’s different to what they told me. Doesn’t make any odds with the law anyway, and so long as I’m the right side of that, I’m not bothered.

I leave my card in the first day of the week, and only take it out at end of week when I go home.

As if you decided to have minum rest of 9 hours
Instead of guessing roughly when you need to start again.
You can look at tacho and see how long.its been on rest.
And I’d invest in a mattress topper I bought one not long ago . Was surprised how much a differnec they make. Best thing ever bought.
Plus saves your sleeping on a matress that who knows been using it
