I think my old one was the prototype that should have been on test for about 2 years but somebody put it straight into production…all the faults you could ever have were on this one! So, MBUK if you happen to come across this thread, give me the top spec 6x2 for a period of 24 months (running up to 20 hrs /day double shifted) and i will say no more about the crap service from our local MB dealer who’s staff/managment couldn’t find there arse from their armpit…i remember making the phone calls…‘hello, the engine on my 2553 keeps cutting out when i’m braking and the box is in auto and it is coming down half a gear, obviously a bit of a dilemma when i’m loaded on the m/way or twisty section of A roads…try steering it with no power and having to try and restart it without binning it or hitting something/someone and then when it does restart, try finding a gear without pulling over and switching it all of and starting over, with the warning alarm going 90 to the dozen’…‘OK, bring it in, we will have a look’. Next day, phone rings…‘couldn’t find a fault, diagnostics is showing nothing, we’ll bring it back’…I met so called mechanic at yard…hang on mate, we’ll roadtest it…picked up loaded trailer (24 pallets fizzy pop), gently up to M4 j11 and back round onto A33…put it in ‘A’ on approach to roundabout by the old brewery to turn right, gently on the brakes on the approach as it swings left before entering roundabout and sure enough, it died and i was heading for the island, and stopped right in the middle of said roundabout…‘there y’are mate’…quick call to the boss, sort of explained the scene…said leave it there and let ‘mechanic’ take it back in. Left ‘mechanic’ emptying his pants out and when i walked across the yard, he asked me where the truck was…'you told me to leave it so i did…blocking the roundabout!! Soon after this, they scrapped it and i await (what i think will be) a new DAF CF…

Comfort: Three-room apartment for the driver is truly worth it
The interior of the new Actros has everything it takes to make a trucker’s working day easier and also incorporates the results from the latest driver research studies. The latter have shown that relaxed drivers are not only much safer drivers but also use as much as two liters less fuel than other truckers. An ergonomic workstation and outstanding comfort right up to the best sleeping quality any truck can offer play a major role here. That’s why the railing with the control elements is built around the driver area in an easy-to-reach design. Examples of the various equipment possibilities range from the SoloStar Concept variant with a rounded corner relaxation area on the front passenger side to a driver seat with a massage feature and a level for precise adjustment of the bed position. The beds themselves can be as large as 2,200 x 750 mm and come with a seven-zone cold-foam mattress that offers the great comfort of a high-quality bed at home.
“Our new Mercedes-Benz Actros has enabled us to achieve a quantum leap in truck development,” says Troska. “Our overriding goal was to be able to offer our customers even better handling, safety, and comfort in a truck that also boasts lower fuel consumption, emissions, and operating costs. And that’s exactly what we did.”
Please santa may i have lol .
Saw one for the first time today on the back of one of Brit Europeans at Purfleet this morning.
Looked a lot different to the current Actros.Got a black plastic cover over the front grille area and front end.

Glad they’ve changed the design of the mudguard’s as well, always felt they looked crap in gray rather than black and also made it look like it had a fat arse.
Yea, thanx for reminding me Jen Heard that a new Megaspace had been spotted with one of our trailers on running about so i thought ‘maybe…just maybe’. See it at Cannock last night and i thought (after i’d tiddled me pants
) that i was to leave the Scabby there and ride back in style
. Turns out it was a rental from Oldham
Looks like i’m in for a new trailer as well, with the new logo…

They’re really going for it, what a great web site. Not sure about the theme tune though, 8 blokes with moustaches, mirrored shades and wearing cowboy outfits gabbing on about being top hos or some such.
There are 2 left hookers in the country for the dealers to go see, apparently they are going to be taken round the country for prospective customers to appraise.
Just a quick question: why is it ok to plug this truck, whereas the Iveco thread has been locked?
BEAUTIFUL!
