/ First class 2 job......bricking it!

More advice: When you get your paperwork - read through it. There will often be stuff like ‘before 10am’ or ‘no deliveries after 2pm’ or ’ phone 30 minutes before you arrive’. You need to take notice of all these. If another driver offers to look through, let him. Every delivery and collection has its own idiosyncrasies - A popular one is that the goods-in is in a different street to the address you get. Another is through a weight limit - ‘access only’. Stuff like that you learn by experience.

As everyone above says - take your time (within reason), get the paperwork right (many firms don’t get paid if they haven’t got the POD’s signed/named/dated correctly and don’t forget the basics before you leave the yard - check the truck, check the equipment, check the load, check your route.

Remember that its your licence,so no flying around if time is being wasted see if it could be made up at the drops, not on the road. Also mirrors ,mirrors and moreZB mirrors. If you dont have a reversing camera Get Out And Look. What do the capitals spell?

thanks guys this is all great stuff really appreciated

Make sure you get the basics right first, before you even get there; both parts of driving licence, DCPC card, digicard, mobile phone, satnav/maps, food, pen, paper, etc. Check and double-check the night before.

Miss stuff like that and you look a right prune on your first day.

that’s a roger mate cheers
