The usual if I may?
I know it’s timber but what are the hours, pay, conditions like?
Don’t really want to leave a half decent job for one that’s not.
Thank you in advance.

I’m pretty sure it’s nearly all contractors running in Finnforest livery.

he worked for them for years, reckoned it was one of the best jobs he regrettably ever left if I remember correctly. Absolutely no doubt he will give you an honest unbiased opinion fella.
Duncan Adams does the Grangemouth sites transport
its defo pettits all painted up in finnforest colours…they got some good mtrs pulling timber on wickes/ b & q work 99% of the time with 1 drop upwards to 5 or 6
most of the loads are strapped down by the shunters
dont know what the dollar is like but shunters are on nearly a tenner a hour

Does anyone know if it’s day work only or nights out required?

If someone post a forest related question but nobody hears it, did he ask the question?
Thankyou.
My dad works drives at the Grangemouth site, as said he works for Duncan Adams running in Finnforest livery.
Ive also done the job while working for Adams and always found it a great job, when you get used to the deliveries and get to know the guys in the forklifts its a great job, can b a pain in the ■■■■ in the winter with the wind and rain blowing the curtains all over the place but all in all i found it a great job and would work there full time no problem.
As ive said though thats at the Grangemouth site, dont know what the other sites are like, been to the Widnes site once with a delivery but thats it.
i would say you should check the loads are secure,it used to be nothing unusual to find small packs of timber on the bottom and bigger packs on top,a bit like an upside down pyramid. also some packs of timber can be slippy and move about. also not unusual to find a small pack of timber which should have been off at the first drop still up at the front of the trailer at the last drop.

Steady on fella it’s not that exciting
See alot of the trucks in Kronospan in Chirk loading MDF and Chipboard, they seem to have decent kit.
