Dapper
Presuming that you mean the collar then under normal circumstances they shouldn’t be caked up but if you are struggling because they are rusty then a quick dip in the tank works wonders. Just put some diesel in a suitable container and do the rest with a rag.

Dip them in your fuel tank Dapper that soon sorts them out and diesels cleaner…
What a brilliant idea!
meatpaste:
2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in
two days
- The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It
will dissolve a nail in about?4 days.
spot the urban myths
we did the meat experiment in high-school chemistry, after a lad brought in an article with all those and more upon them. We bunged some cubed up beef in water, milk, coca cola, and a couple of different strength acids from the locked cupboard.
one acid frothed and foamed and it was gone, the other took 4 days to wither the meat into a sliver of leathery residue, the coca cola fizzed at the fatty bits for a minute and once it had gone flat in the air did very little and by the next week’s lesson the meat was not visibly reduced. water just puffed it up a bit and milk simply accellerated the rotting.
Then more recently I’d always read how it’s brilliant for certain things, so I placed some furred up bolts from my bike into a bowl of coke, and left 'em, but forgot for a good week - came back and they were still there, but a bit wetter and a bit sticker - and with a nice brown residue left in the bottom of the bowl. the remaining furring did come off easier though.
I reckon you’d need to put the vanishing nail into a constantly flowing/changing source of cola for a few weeks before it’d corrode significantly.
bear in mind how much more corrosive stomach acids and human bile are than coca cola, and how children can swallow a small key and pass them through undamaged.
afaik it’s just the combination of carbonation, sugar and acid that gives a short term fizz to vulnerable materials and dirt.
bung some bicarb in a bown of coca cola with some nuts n bolts though and yer closer to the mark
I stuck a filthy 1973 issue one pence piece into a glass of Coke overnight. By morning it was shiny!
There is a programme on Discovery Channel, with two guys who prove or debunk all sorts of urban myths, like these coke ones. In fact, a couple of months ago, these are exactly what they worked on. The trouble is, I’m blowed if I can remember what the programme is called at the mo, so can’t do a search on it. The site Snopes don’t cover all of these on their site, so that aint much help either.
Going by memory of that programme, I’ll go through them.
The copper coin one worked, proven Brummie.
- Blood on the highway, Coke was better than plain water.
- T-bone steak, a myth.
- Toilet cleaner, I don’t remember, sorry
- Polishing chrome, proven, it works well
- Cleaning battery terminals, it works but so does hot water, then you can drink the cola instead.
- Loosening a rusty bolt, it helped, but a proper releasing agent was better
- A marinade, I dont think they did that one
- Grease from clothes, they didn’t do
But grease from hard surfaces they did, it was useless - A T.F.R. they didn’t do.
Info - Disolving a nail, didn’t work
and can you see, in this day and age, with all this compensation culture. Can you see anyone not sueing Coka-Cola for millions if this osteo-porosis bit was true? - the corrosive hazard warning diamond is the same, whether its highly corrosive or mildly corrosive.
- Cleaning engines, it worked, but proper degreaser was better

It’s called Myth Busters, Simon.

The phone’s time isignia is set by the network so I can’t fiddle photos to show a different time of being taken, so it’s as good as guaranteed.
I have a K750i which is the same camera and pretty much the same phone, And if you go into the settings on the phone and change the time it will also change the time stamp on your pictures same goes with the date…

Rusty suzie couplings? Just spray with WD40. Easy to keep a small can in your bag…handy for squeeky seats, throttle pedals, etc. too.
The best thing by a long chalk for grease is brake cleaner, we always carry a tin of stop quick in the cab - works wonders on clothes - you’ll be amazed, great on cab seats also

whenever I do that, t-mobile correct it automatically.
must be automated by the masts, whenever it seeks a signal confirmation or whatever phones do these days
after cooking 2000 burgers & sausages for a kids football tournament we had packed most things away at the end of the day, when we realised that the BBQ’s hadn’t been cleaned ( large hot plate ones not coal ones). We had just thrown all the hot water away and had no cloths left. The hire company charges £50 each if they are returned still dirty.
We did have some spare cans of coke that were left over so poured this on the grill. Without any cloths it was a particularly messy job and was still very greasy. then someone asked if anyone happend to have any sand in their cars - no but we had a bag of straw left over from the lucky dip.
I think the BBQ’s were cleaner than they had ever been!!! And no £100 fine !!!
If you use wd40 0r diesel to free your Suzie fittings or locks or anything for that matter. I always use some engine oil, or something similar after. As the cleanser in them, allows the rust to come back. A proper lubricating oil, has a built in rust inhibitor.
