Feeling just like dozy on a Friday

I should’ve stayed out last night! Got home to a frosty house and an even frostier reception! There’s a strange whining noise coming from the old boiler (I just put it down to her age  ). She’s been phoning me all week complaining about the heating whilst I’ve been offering handy tips like “put a bloody coat on then” and explaining how my night heater is set at 28 degrees (my, how she laughed at that one). Now I’m home and the harsh realities of a cold house are sinking in. God knows how we survived pre central heating.

Oh well not long now, engineer is due out shortly.

You tight get!
You told me it was knackered this time last year ffs. :unamused:
Get some money spent and that lass warmed up man!.

^^^^ Ah well, engineer has been, diagnosed a faulty valve of some description, unfortunately can’t get the parts until Tuesday. Our lass promptly demanded I book us into a hotel in Lincoln for tonight and tomorrow! I quickly activated plan B, nipped out and returned with a pair of tower fans from Screwfix.

She needs to thank her lucky stars that she’s landed such a catch in me.

Jack-knife:

The lass did ask if I wanted salad with it, I just said no thanks I’m on a bit of a diet.

The tommy sauce was on the chips and egg only by the way, not the steak.
Do you think I’m some kind of peasant?

Amazed this thread is still live btw.
For the record I think any sauce ruins a good steak, the taste of the meat and juices are fine with me.

Incidentally (seeing as everybody is edge of their seats interested …morning Suedehead  ) my trailer WAS loaded when I went in for 6, so got back home around 5 ish, (after listening to the 2 2 game :sunglasses: on Talksport.)
Still, at least Beaver was happy, I was too late to arrange to meet him for breakfast (again) so he missed paying his turn…, ‘‘again’’. :unamused:
I’ll maybe do a regular dozy stylee every Friday thread from now on …so stay tuned. ,

Yes I…

Have heard of Colmans mustard and the time old story that Mr Colman made his fortune by what people left on their plate not what they consumed.

But while mustard is a joy on cold ham, sausage sandwiches and stirred into mashed potatoes, for me it doesn’t go on my steak platter. However, the smoother and milder French mustard frequently does.

Dozy, get well soon…PLEASE

A very small dollop of coarse mustard may accompany a steak of lesser quality, but no meal including chips can be considered satisfactory without mayonnaise.

Only if you cheapened out, and bought ‘frying steak’… :grimacing:
