Fast fernwoods tippers

No point hanging about.

They’re dangerous. They only have two speeds; stop and flat out.

56mph or more at 44tonnes or more (I’ve seen their weighbridge tickets) is okay for sometimes, but on the winding, narrow B roads I often encounter them on, it’s just plain dangerous.

I love slowing them down and listening to them whine like girls on the CB.

I can’t do anything about the ones that come towards me in the opposite direction around a corner on six wheels though.

I feel a bit sorry for them that they have to race around all day for their pitiful wage, but they shouldn’t drag other motorists into their misery.

What speed are fernwoods limiters set at mine is a fast 56 and over the last few days ive spent alot of time on the m18 and m62 ,they are never out of the middle lane and past me like im having a nap,no time for indicators or saying thanks for being flashed, its not the same lorry and driver either ,its the lot of them ,crazy fools :frowning: :frowning:

& Q the Vosa inspection.
Not for the first time I’m sure.

They are next door to the testing station at Watnall, maybe friends in high places.

there the modern day version of hell drivers lol

Ive been on the same run today and the same things have happened, ive seen a few on the other side of the road all in middle lane and 2 have overtaken me ,no indicators or acknowledgement of being flashed ,the uniform is a vest and cheap wrap round shades ,no smoking in vehicles is exempt fernwoods lorrys aswell, allways got cb mike in hand :unamused: :unamused:

I know a lad who drives for them (he helps run a local vintage rally and truckshow) and he doesn’t seem to rush around so happen it’s just a few?

Pete.

I used to use the B6009 coming home from night shift and one dark morning (no street lights) I was pootling along at 50ish when I saw headlights in the mirror. Not unusual of course but as they closed in I thought ‘they seem a bit far apart’.
Blue Premium, up my **** at 50 plus around the sweeping, downhill right, adverse camber left ‘S’ bend. I’ve followed them down there avoiding the turbulence of twigs and leaves as they shake the trees on the limiter over the blind crest of the motorway bridge. Every one that I have seem is teararsing around.

Menaces.

They call that the runway!

Just asking, are you sure your speed limiter is set at 56 mph as mine for instance when on the limiter says on the screen im doing 90 kph when im actually doing about 86/87 kph.
Just wondering
