Well this is all positive and glad to hear that it shouldn’t affect him obtaining his licence, I was a little worried that I had given him false hopes as I wasn’t so sure I was correct. He will be delighted at the news as he has gone pretty much down in the dumps for over a year now. He thought that he was on the scrap heap for the rest of his life. I don’t know what his false leg is made of but I am sure that shouldn’t be a problem. Just wondering if different materials could be a hazard, explosion risk if it made a spark or something. I know he has a false leg from the knee but has a real foot.
Is that a false leg below the knee and a real foot on the other leg?

My brain cannot compute how he has a real foot attached to a fake leg. Is it just me ?
wwwooooooooooooooooooooossssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
its a ■■■■■■■■ same as the rest of his posts…cop yourself on.
I take great offence at that. This is actually a genuine post that once again gets steered off course. Light hearted maybe, ■■■■ take like all of my posts, No. So I will give you a wwooosssshhh for that.
remember the boy who cried wolf?
if 99% of your posts are utter trolling pish, then its not unheard of for the last 1% to be taken the same way…
show him this and see if he fancies a career in shoplifting.itl be more rewarding than truck driving. youtube.com/watch?v=9jBlE5F7r8I

Oh Hi Nighty, your still with us then, tablets not kicked in yet so looks like your stashing them somewhere and ignoring the advice of your shrink. Have you no one else to speak to other than keeping following me around? You may have frightened robroy off and calmed him down, but I aint him. Whatever you say just goes in one ear and straight out of the other. I know robroy is missing you so run along now, a bit of advice before you go though, try not to be so boring and try to have a point to what you are struggling to say. And for god sake take those bloody tablets!!
I drove trucks for 20+years but in 2009 I lost both my legs above knee (not work related) so I no where your mate is coming from. To me it was getting use to being at home 24-7 as I was a tramper I have had great family and friends around which as been a great help. have to say friends did pussyfoot about me and would worry what they said but my way was to laugh along with them like I say to them if I can take the ■■■■ out of myself then you carry on. One of the things I did was to see if I could keep my licence which I did but to find someone to adapt a lorry for my needs isn’t going to happen, driving no problem but its everything else that goes with the job. tell your mate keep is chin up its not the end there are great false legs out there if I can get about on two false legs then he can.
best of luck to him stay positive is all I can say

Thanks for this, He is much more positive and has something to work towards now. Driving is not the best job in the world but to him it probably will be. It has hit him hard because he was so active. He thinks the world is against him at the moment and feels sorry for himself. This is just what he needs, he is my best pal and I really have tried everything to turn him around.

Over 40 years ago we had a bloke doing middle east with only one leg, Billy Hamm, AKA Bionic Bill.
That was in the days before auto gear boxes.
Did he end up doing Austria as I met a bloke there, he was asking why I was limping, and showed me his prosthetic
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We were both working for Chapman and Ball who went ■■■■ up in '78/79, a short time after Bill had an “Issue” in Yugo and I had to recover his truck.
The last time I saw him he was sitting at home saying he was crippled due to the “Issue” he’d had, then C&B went bust,(Not because of him!)
I heard some years later on this BB that he died in an accident on the M1 some time ago.
Lost my leg, left leg below the knee. Work as an agency driver ( yeah the original limper) get work no problem, even done roping and sheeting. got a manual and auto licence. At my last medical am fairly sure the Doc never realised I had a prosthetic on. Buggered up first team football for the Wanderers but apart from that life is more or less the same.

Did you declare that you have only one leg?
Course I did to the DVLA, went for the medical and just passed it, it ain’t exactly Iron man medical, it is the same medical for everyone even blind truck drivers.
