The flight from RAF Brize Norton is not a direct flight, refuel at the Ascension Islands, and if the aircraft breaks down, there is time to scuba dive or swim with the giant sea turtles .
That’s the case with most aircraft [emoji23]

Are there any nights out involved?
There are only two places with roads, Mount Pleasant and Port Stanley, the rest of the islands are gravel tracks and mud trails!
Like a huge building site then?

They are desperate for refrigeration engineers as the island has a lot of large refrigeration plant on it. When we were there we were working with 4 guys from Chile and two from Argentina. We were the last to stay on an MOD contract and could have stayed for much longer as there is so much demand. I was surprised the Falkland government had not sponsored any of the youngsters to train as fridge engineers.
