Failed HGV test 3 times....Need advice

I failed my class 2 three times, all due to nerves getting the better of me, every time I made a minor I was telling myself oh bz I’ve failed. At the end of third failed attempt examiner told me stop trying to read examiner’s mind. What you “think” is a major fault it might not be in his/her eyes, take a deep breath and carry on. I nearly gave up after 3rd failed attempt but bit of encouragement from my instructor and examiner’s words of wisdom made me go for the “last try” and I passed with one minor fault. Also passed my class 1 first time with only one minor. I’d say take a deep breath, be natural and go for it.

That works the opposite for me as if think I have failed would have relaxed & just gone with it thinking well failed now might as well just continue ( in fact I did with my class 2 but got back & had passed )

Well done Ang, You are a natural my dear, Hope to see you at the next Drivers getogether in The Labour Club Doon Thi Toon, Regards Larry.X.

Snowman in your area there is company called John Flair Lgv. You should have gone with them. I am not saying the trainer you choose is bad or anything. I am just saying the money soon mounts up incase if you fail more than 2 to 3 times and this company lgv flair has this thing called unlimited training and you only pay for the test fees incase if you fail. I would love to choose that option but I got small car and that place is like 200+ miles away. Good luck now you have come this far so might as well do it all the way.

,

I can recommend John at Flair training I would book a couple lesson with him see what he say then go for it again

This is where I done mine I went from North East England ( near Newcastle down to Chelmsford )

Hey that’s a long distance to go for, I went with Peter Smyth training provider and in all fairness I got not one bad thing to say about them, I know I failed a few tests but in the end it’s all down to me how I perform on test day, I have not looked back since about tests and prices etc, But to have a test centre on the same premises I think that’s a plus point cause your learning on same reversing pitch as to where you will be going to give your test on
Can’t remember now But I paid like 15 16 hundred and I passed on 4th time but one of my test date my car broke down on m6 jct 19 Head gasket gone, And also the lady in the office is just amazing you can blindly trust on her she sorted everything out for me.

I passed on my 3rd attempt (Class 2) so do not worry about the amount of times you have failed, look at those as a learning session (yes the cost doesn’t help) and find another training centre, tell them what you failed on and concentrate on getting those corrected.

I hit the kerb on my 2nd attempt too. Pain in the arse doing it but whatever you think you may have failed on, don’t give up and keep going. You will get there. Once you have passed, you then don’t have to worry about hitting a kerb again  Keep at it dude.

Also examiner wise, I had the same guy on my 2nd and 3rd test. 2nd one he said I was going to quick around roundabouts, 3rd time I slowed it down and he said after that I need to go quicker. You can’t ruddy win at times.

Cheers guys, least i know im not the only one who has severe bad luck lol.
Ill keep at it, got another one booked for Friday so hopefully this is the last time.
Ill let you know the outcome!
