may have found something that’ll do the job, called into a dealers near uttoxetter today, he’s got a daf 85 380, stretched artic with the same wheel base as mine but a fair bit more overhang as it’s a 30ft body, thinking with this lengh i could move the dumy headboard (12" sleeper on it’s edge) down the wagon to push more weight over the rear axles and still get the 28ft i need. i was thinking about it earlier and reckon all the body builders who fit to new wagons must have already done these sums? surely if you put a sixteen ton load on a wagon plated to carry it and use the whole of the body you can’t be overloading one axle?
