Lovely job, but I can’t help thinking that the one hooked up to the tent would look a lot better with a coating of dirt giving it a more authentic look, it’d probably make you cry after all the hard work you’ve done & the people on the road rallies would have a heart attack, but it would look the business IMO

This is one of 5 ex Essex Int. 112s I bought XHK600X/FNO82Y/A937MPU/A938/A939 This is a shot of A937 coupled to a Fruehauf tri.on the Crooklands road bridge over the A591.

hi guys, just found this fourm, talk about going down memory lane,i,am old brain haulage driver, i started on brains in 76,before that did a couple of months on neals in the tractor plant, before that six months in saudi and before that another good old essex firm wyatts of danbury from where i remember essex int.worked out of orsett when A.C.T. were still there & henry smithers still had a couple of trucks running, that picture of the M&S i think was my old mate dave terrys & yes he did do russia in it ,we still talk about it now,i think the photo of the 141 pulling the merzzario tilt is morry ailing the sister truck to big alan peeks sadly no longer with us. i am sure i remember B&M comeing into brains yard but can,t recall any names,i also did a bit for skittrals in about 2000-2001.dave skittral sadly no loger with us.i live in france now but still keep in touch with alot of the guys,it was a great way of earning yer bread, hope someone gets to read this & maybe come back with some more photos& tales of days gone by, keep on trucking fellas& as my old mate always used to say, keep it in your trousers and stay outa laybys. gday…

Chopsticks:
Gonna be one fine model this one. I’m not missing out on this like I did the Astran. The Kerbey Motors R series looks good aswell, might have to add that to the collection too.

Thanks for all the photos Chalkey.

Very much so and they are being snapped up on pre-orders like hot cakes according to the chap at kerbeymotors.com!!

Was this ever an Essex International truck?? I think an Essex International truck was PWC 195R… right or wrong??

Both these 111s ended their days with HEAVYHAUL Chelmsford limited. The White 111 was soon laid up for spares for two others, MEP 353 P and VVW 909S {yes it was a 111 in a previous life!}. I dont know wether PWC was ever owned by ESSEX Int, but underneath that white paint job was a BRAIN Haulage livery. The cab was totaly shot on this one!!
