Very pretty motor, as are the ERF photos. The ERF on small tyres is unusual, as in i haven’t seen many ERF’s that low.

That looks as if it might be a garment trailer and generally nowadays the whole equipage runs on smaller wheels for high-volume (low-weight) capacity. Your’e right: it’s not often you saw ERF ECs on little wheels. Robert
The chap who recons air valves at the classic shows had his ex Eric Vick E series on eBay last week but it seems to have gone now !

That ex Eric Vicks didn’t make the reserve I don’t think…
Very nice, very smart outfit.
I’ve heard that they want to get rid of the old livery and the deep red colour scheme…The times they are a changing.
I’ve heard drivers who knew drivers who went to North Africa for Eric Vick (like it says on the radiator grille) but I have never, ever seen a picture of one over there. Well, good ol’ Truckerash has found this image taken in 1975 by a Roger Squires on holiday in Tangiers, Morocco! It shows an EV B-series ERF in the port. Robert

Sometimes we see what we want to see Robert. Isn’t that a Daf?
Until recently going back many years the only non ERF in Eric’s fleet was a Transcon which he bought because it came with permits which were as rare as rocking horse manure at that time, I don’t think it was ever painted it was light blue IIRC but it was driven by the late Ivor Neal (RIP) a dear old school mate of mine.

Well yes. Now, I’ve had a really good look I reckon you are right and it’s a DAF (and I’ve just had a communication from Truckerash who thinks so too!). Alas. Never mind - happy days! Sorry to have give a false alarm .Robert

Yes, he passed away in April and was given a huge send-off. It was reported on a separate thread. May he rest in peace. Robert

Yes, you are right about the Transcon, which EV acquired from a subbie. I have pictures of it in the Middle East parked up with Vick’s ERF NGCs, supplied by a retired EV driver I recently interviewed. They will appear in my forthcoming book which will probably be called Lorries of Arabia 2: ERF NGC courtesy of Old Pond. Cheers! Robert
