ERF 'clearing house' thread!

I would think it more recent: it looks like a lane departure camera thing in the bottom right of the photo?

St Hilaire De Harcourt is within a half shift of the Channel, so a night out could be avoided and taken on a ferry…sort of…almost…legally?

Less common now, (Brexit) but there were UK builders etc working in France, and using their own UK vehicles for months at a time over there.

At one time we used to take old UK plant to France, and old scaffolding too. A few minutes comparing prices on UK eBay and French Le Bon Coin will show why. In the other direction old farm tractors seem to go back to the UK.
I think one way to extract more work, t’other way for restoration by collectors?

The thick plottens!

Or dash cam, or toll transponder.

Buzzer

Nice one Buzzer! It’s MMG 772P, an NGC that started with AJ Bradick in Leyton and went to GL Baker who ran it on the Paris run from Faversham, then from Silvertown. One of its drivers contacted me to say that there was a second one that he thought ran in the livery of Pitter / Van Ommeran on container work in Silvertown. If anyone knows owt about this second vehicle I’d like to know!

Cheers.

That’s quite a long wheelbase, especially for a wrecker!

I would imagine it only done straight tows off the motorway. Useless for recovery work

When you were allowed on a flat-bed trailer!

The wipers suggest to me the erf is LHD, popped up on fb with no information, don’t know if you already know about it Ro…

Steve

Top man! Yes, I’m aware of the Brown-Wharrier LHD B-series, though I don’t know any details re engine / g’box. It would almost certainly have been a Cu 290 / Fuller 9 or 13.

No info, off fb, but an erf somewhere far away…

Oh nice one vwvanman0! One of Brown & Wharrier’s? LHD B-series ERFs in the desert. Great pic!

RHD. Can see the steering column as the grill is up. Wipers suggest RHD also.

Brilliant! Thanks Colin. Well spotted. I had missed the wiper mounting.

Cheers.

E series ?

Yes! It’s an E14 so it’ll have an NTE 320 in it and a Twinsplitter.

Manchester erf spotted on a bus fb page…

Nice! 4MW-cabbed 6x4 probably converted from a tractive unit.
