I’m sure that the video for 'I like Trucking ’ was shot partly on the Colnbrook by pass near Heathrow. By the Riverside cafe. Long time ago though, judging by the reg No.s on the motors!

John Raymond Transport. Bridgend.
There’s one on this page called ‘Euro Lorry Drivers’ but you’ll have to click it as it’s not the default song. Don’t know if the singer’s a ■■■■■ but he sings somert along the lines of ‘stopping off at little chef and syphoning the diesel’
It’s minimal synth so don’t expect any of that C&W pap.
I vaguly remember The Wurzels did a rewrite of one of their songs (Combine Harvester I think) to “I want to be an Eddie Stobart driver” or something along them lines.
Thats all I can remember

I’ve been trying to catch that episode of Not the Nine O’Clock news on Paramount’s random schedule. I haven’t seen it since it’s original broadcast but can remember all the words. Classic and you’ve got to laugh…and it’s nice to see trucking from the eyes of the public too.
Another good one is “Truck Driving Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd;
Well he’s truckin’ on down from Memphis
Cruisin’ down to New Orleans
Tonight he sleeps alone with a Cajun queen
Well there’s smoke from the stacks a-blowin’
And he don’t care where he’s goin’
The only time he feels right is when he’s rollin’
He’s got roadmaps in his hand
Lord, drivin’ just as hard as he can
Trying to dodge them scales and the Man
Well I’m talkin’ about
Truck drivin’ man
Yea he’ll always give ya, the best that he can.
White cups and coffee, Lord yea
Its all that he needs
And he’s all right by me
Truck drivin’ man
Truck on
Truck driver
Shift your gears
He’s got ladies up in North Dakota
From the Keys man, to Minnesota
And he loves each and every one, least that’s what he’s told ‘em
Lord, flannel shirts and blue jeans
Truck stops are routine
Tonight he sleeps alone with a Cajun queen
Well I’m talkin’ about
Truck drivin’ man
Yea he’ll always give ya, the best that he can.
White cups and coffee, Lord yea
Its all that he needs
And he’s all right by me
Truck drivin’ man
Guitar
Truck driver
Well he’s truckin’ on down from Memphis
Cruisin’ down to New Orleans
Tonight he sleeps alone with a Cajun queen
Well there’s smoke from the stacks a-blowin’
And he don’t care where he’s goin’
The only time he feels right is when he’s rollin’

Truck drivin’ man
Yea he’ll always give ya, the best that he can.
White cups and coffee, Lord yea
Its all that he needs
And he’s all right by me
Truck drivin’ man
I said he’s all right by me
Truck drivin’ man
I said he’s all right by me
Truck drivin’ man
Play the guitar

Not strictly about truck drivers but trucking related non the less - We Are The Road Crew by Motorhead.
Another town another place,
Another girl, another face,
Another truce, another race,
I’m eating junk, feeling bad,
Another night, I’m going mad,
My woman’s leaving, I feel sad,
But I just love the life I lead,
Another beer is what I need,
Another gig my ears bleed,
We Are The Road Crew
Another town I’ve left behind,
Another drink completely blind,
Another hotel I can’t find,
Another backstage pass for you,
Another tube of super glue,
Another border to get through,
I’m driving like a maniac,
Driving my way to hell and back,
Another room a case to pack,
We Are The Road Crew
Another hotel we can burn,
Another screw, another turn,
Another Europe map to learn,
Another truckstop on the way,
Another game I learn to play,
Another word I learn to say,
Another bloody customs post,
Another [zb] foreign coast,
Another set of scars to boast,
We Are The Road Crew
Well seeing as how the thread has drifted off “English” songs hows about:
6 days on the road - Steve Earle/Sawyer Browne
Gimme 40 Acres - ■■?
