i can see both sides of the arguement free speech should be defended.
rumours and gossip that’s spread as fact in the current economic climate is actually dangerous. just look what happened at northern rock. because people said it’d gone to the wall, it did go to the wall!
Having said that so long as it’s clear it’s only your opinion anything should go.
Just a thought it is near impossible to run a large company on “tick” in this present climate. only a couple of weeks ago they laid all the garage staff off including all the fitters at bilsthorpe. watch tesco step in via stobarts they could not afford for inov8 and corby chill to disappear as they provide a large chunk of their transportation.

Rumours that cannot be verified and are potentially damaging to a company/individual will in future be removed.
While we may not write those rumours, it can be said that we are the publishers when they appear on these forums. as such if we knowingly allow something that is untrue and potentially damaging to remain on the forums or not corrected we leave ourselves open to action against us.
That I am afraid is a fact of life 
Any forum owner that doesnt protect itself is in danger of making a very costly mistake.

Surely the only time we can be sure a rumour is a fact is after the fact, ie when the company has actually been sold - or closed.
Unless of course you consider anything you read in the press to be fact, not rumour,
