I think Mike was suggesting it was you who was taking the forums too seriously, hence why he quoted your post. If it was aimed at me then he wouldn’t have quoted you surely? I don’t take any forum seriously, they aren’t the real world and 80% of the stuff I post on here is just any old ■■■■■■■■ and not to be taken seriously at all.

Who’s hiding? I would have made the same jokey remark if he had asked the question in a real world conversation. Anyone who has met me will I think back that up, I do that sort of thing all the time. However, in those situations you can tell by the tone etc that no malice is meant and that is the problem with the computer screen, you cannot tell how it is meant just from the text That is why there are smilies on forums, they are not there just for the sake of it but are used to convey the things you cannot convey in the written word alone. Everybody else on this thread seems to have understood that but you missed it by a mile. The other point you missed, the joke was aimed as much at Dave and myself as his wife. Dave, because he didn’t want to fork out the £12 to get the list but I implied his tightness, another poster called him a tight [zb] as a joke, could cost him more than £12 in the long run. Myself, because how do I know all the stuff an anorak needs? I am one.
