Is that F1 driver on £7.50 like the rest of the mugs?
What was his trailer and cargo worth 6 million?

At the end of last nights show the narrator was running through the personalities we had met over the series. Why didnt he mention DebHE?

no but i bet a load of us will have recorded it just to see fiona at the end lol
Rob K for once I agree with you on 2 points:
Driver didn’t take it far enough accross to the opposite side to get the trailer straight onto the train. I spotted it as he did it.
Black guy comes accross as a pretty cool dude & would make a good work mate. A regular family guy.

Not true at all mate. I work along side Mo doing the same contract work and i can assure you he’s not been suspended. Besides im told the air deflector (roof spoiler) on 1 of the trucks wasnt fastend down properly and hit 1 of the bridges. No real damage to the unit other than the deflector was smashed![]()
![]()
So it’s not true that he’s been suspended
![]()
But it’s true that he has damaged some MAN trucks that he was delivering on a lowloader
![]()
Do Stobbie’s now run their own vehicle delivery trucks or was this just some kind of ‘one off’
I’m just curious because as far as I’m concerned the serie’s about ‘Eddie’ has portrayed it as a very, very cushy job as long as you know how to play the game with the planners
![]()
But maybe some of you fella’s on there will bend over backwards to keep your ‘personally’ named trucks or the runs that you do regularly
Gotta say It looks like a real good number but I wouldn’t like to be wearing the identifaction all the time but would love to do a tramper’s job with them, day’s, night’s or euro
![]()
![]()
I know it’s not going to happen for me but good luck and stay safe to the fella’s that are doing it
Regards
Dave Penn;
Yes mate he did damage 1 of the MAN’s but wasnt really his fault as the deflector were secured by the fitters before being driven on to the lowloader. Most of the new units are held at Chelford and are either collected by drivers or taken to the new relevant depot by low loader and exchanged with decomissioned trucks that go back. The jobs not a bad 1, ive been there just over 9yrs and i can only say it suits me. I wrkd for some right tossers in my time and the biggest 1 being myself as an owner driver doing Int work. Trust me this job is a breeze by comparison, ive done 1 roping and sheeting job in 9yrs and i offered to do that. Like all jobs, it suts some but wont others

And what about those that have been disciplined since this was filmed, for having gas canisters in the cab, and using them for cooking on the tank. And for the one that has allegedly lost his licence for drink driving.
Allegedly of course.
Ah forgot. we won’t hear about those things though, will we?
Ken.
I was talking to a Stobbart’s driver the other week who told me that the old guy in the 1st show (Ive been here for 30 years guy,who was fussy with the washer guys) was currently suspended for having a low loader with 2 MAN cabs on… and battered them under (or not under) a bridge

Fair enough, that was what the driver i spoke with told me
Incidently how does the deflector not being fastened down make it higher? and surely it still should never hit a bridge…if in doubt get out in look?
Ive nothing against the guy by the way,i actually quite enjoyed the programmes,my boy loved them!
As an entertainment show (and letting the public see how stuff gets to shops) it wasn’t too bad IMHO.
Despite that idiot doing the voiceover trying to make things so dramatic and all the glaring continuity errors, it wasn’t anywhere near as bad as Ice Road Truckers. I had to turn I.R.T. off before I broke my telly, the voiceover was so annoying.
To us in the business it was pretty laughable as a series about the job. But it showed Joe Public something about the pressures of the job, the wide variety of stuff we carry, some of the reasons why we drive the way we do and in general showed Eddy’s boys n girls and truck drivers in general in a pretty good light.
We know what the job’s really like, so we can laugh at the show n take the mick. Joe Public hasn’t got much of a clue about what we do, so might have been entertained and informed a bit by it, hopefully for the good of us all.
I only saw a bit of the (trailer tester) caught in traffic for the V Festival moaning about being late for his booking time. Well coming from Appleton he would see the matix signs and come off and gone down the A50/A38 to Lichfield no hold ups (Knob)

does this mean Mo’s new nickname is low bridge & not top gun anymore
well at least the programme hasn’t tarred us all with the tired fat blokes that kill other road users & pedestrians with these dangerous overloaded trucks
The series could’ve been 3hrs shorter if it didn’t preview then repeat EVERYTHING…
It’s annoying when the yanks do it and it’s bloody annoying when we do it too…

Cant really answer that one my friend, suffice to say that it only struck one bridge and that was towards the end of the journey on the M62, the hows wheres and why for’s i dont really know. Trust me tho, as the advert goes “what you see is what you get” and thats Mo, heart of gold, despite his loudness.

seen that as well! when V fest on i always went that way up north from Lichfield or Hinckley
Ok guys, i’ve read all the posts, the comments about me being a bighead, a queer, a knob etc, its water off a ducks back. What i want to clarify is the train, “he’s stuck on the kerb, he’s hit the train” garbage. Like many of you lads on here i use the train alot over the years, when you have a camera crew filming you your whole attitude changes, i felt very uncomfortable being filmed and miked up for 36 hours. I drove onto the train and cut in a fraction early, looking in the mirror i thought christ i’m a bit close to the kerb so i got out to make sure i had enough room, being dark a 2" gap becomes invisible, and there was no way was i gonna scrape the trailer on bloody national tv, all was well so carried on. Nerves i suppose. Good old channel five hyped it up for a bit of drama and it worked! My co driver is a bloody natural with a camera stuck in his face, i’m not!

Doesn’t matter what anyone calls you, there isn’t one driver on here that wouldn’t swap places for your job even if it did mean becoming a stobart
Clever editing made you look like a bit of a diddy tbh, but without sounding cheeky a diary wouldn’t go a miss of your future F1 exploits

A team of drivers takes a delivery of Formula One racing cars to Belgium, but while they are waiting for the expensive haul, a new recruit takes Michael Schumacher’s electric bike for a ride. Elsewhere, a veteran tests out a new trailer, and the Stobart crew puts on a show at Truckfest. Last in the series
I hope they dedicate a large proportion of the show to the F1 transport as im a bit of a F1 geek
Transporting the works Mercedes team which was the old brawn team.
You should try living in Brackley then,it seems you either work at merc F1 or at the chicken factory…sadly I drive for Faccenda chickens and the only fit birds I get to pull at work are in the trailer heading for the dinner table

What about Rocket Ron Boyles
Or Freestones where i started my transport career the only way is up lol

Yep, get on with it my friend!
I used to know a few F1 mechanics, but id prefer your job by a country mile!
well after reading all the coments on this forum,i gave into temptation and logged in,only to put the record straight on a couple of things that are or have been discused about me,first i"ll put the record straight,by the way im Mo from the tv programme, the answer is NO i havnt been suspended or sacked for drinking water while driving on tv or for hitting a bridge on M62
