Rob K:
Well I thought it was quite a good episode. That chick and the other kid make much better telly than Mo and “Mr. Bomb” did.
Apart from the headlight and a few silly narrator comments I couldn’t fault the programme and thought it was quite entertaining for both truckers and non-truckers.
Them spotters are a bit OTT though. There’s no way I could put up with that BS if I worked for them, they’d do my nut in. Just get a life or something. It’s a truck, same as all the other trucks out there.
I think Rikki can relax and breathe a sigh of relief. Nowt really to ■■■■■ about this week.
ETA: Oh and nice touch with naming the kid’s new truck after his other daughter. Was impressed by that.
pretty much agree with all of that Rob I know it’s good PR for Stobarts, but at least its; a program that shows truck driver on a positive light.
Totaly agree mate was a good episode. Was a bit cringworthy in places! I E Them spotters! WTF… Iknow folk have hobbys but it seems a bit ott??
You would think ESL would cash in and make special anorak to sell them. It could have extra big pockets for there thermos and there cheese sandwiches and give them a free bobble hat with each one they buy. They could also build a shelter with a window for them to lick in between trucks arriving and departing. I guess it’s quite useful in a way, it means there carers know where to find them to provide there care in the community !.

You could just get rid of the truck wash boys, install the spotters then they could lick the whole truck clean and save a fortune on wages and water

Quote of the week, “marks in for a blow” that for me was a classic rewind the sky+ box back moment, I had to just to confirm thats what the narrator said and i wasnt hearing things.
Anyway fiona and mark came accross as good decent people, unlike the 1st show which was full of trumpets. The planner guy was a total prune, and one last question. just what was the planner smoking in the moking shelter? Yes i did say moking!
I noticed that, and wondered if it was the numptys office from episode 1. Mo
Yer spotter man (Barry I think his name is) needs a bra for those moobs of his - [zb] theyre massive!! Think he was getting over excited when valentino arrived, even had his wee dictaphone ready for the details I’d say those spotters would brighten up my day if I saw them. Hilarious!
The bloke in the office where i work was talking about it last week, so i thought i would watch it this week so i could agree with him, and earn myself some brownie points i will prob be saying to the wife ‘thats crap, that doesnt happen, what a load of …’ etc etc.
Wasnt as bad as i thought, the narrator overdramatised it way too much thou, then again it was for telly. Nice one for Mark getting his daughters name on his new truck. How much extra does the ‘spotters guide’ get for putting up with the anoraks?

I watched tonights episode… and i offer this a food for thought/comment
If you knew abslolutly nothing about the industry - Joe Public would take away from that that its a clean, highly organised, efficient industry that can quickly adapt to changing circumstances - not a bad image that as an industry as a whole we would want to project…
Now we all know the reality is different, but do we realy want yet another expose on bent running, poor maintainence etc we have had more than our sahre of them.
Like Stobarts or not, I think to Joe Public it gives a fairly positive (if inaccurate) image of the road transport industry
Got to agree with you on that angle, but the ridicule and[zb] taking on here, is brought on by themselves,(OK not necessarily the drivers) by the heads up their own ■■■ attitude, as if they are better, and doing something different to anybody else. And as for William (one half of the Chuckle brothers) he doesn,t do himself, or the company image any favours does he?

Why? Is it because he doesn’t look like any other nameless suit with a tidy haircut who you usually find in those sort of positions? I would rather work for someone who doesn’t conform just because it is expected than for someone who does. People have mentioned his haircut, his tie being undone when he climbed out the car and other aspects of his appearance but then he is the boss so can do what the [zb] he likes, that’s the beauty of being the boss.
Go into transport companies in other countries and a suit will be a very rare sight, with ties being even less evident. Jeans with a shirt, polo shirt or T-shirt being the norm and it doesn’t seem to prevent them doing their job.
I quite like Daleyboys answer about Stobart spotters licking the nooks and crannies clean, the old Doris could do the difficult to reach places and Barry could do the Fifth Wheel and Headlights

■■■■■■■■■■ is fine, both for the auto censor and the drivers and spotters

I was trying to be subtle mate , I wasn,t referring to his fashion sense, but if I have to spell it out he comes across as a bit of a bellend.

Oh I know that, I was just asking to see which angle you were coming at it from as his appearance seems to have caused more concern than his bellendedness.

OK Wheel Nut , I wont ■■■■ about self censoring in future

It’s the easier option. Just type the word and if it’s not allowed the Auto Censor will replace it with [zb]. Saves having to arse about.
