Blaming agency drivers? Saying they don’t care? Childish and stupid? Really■■? Try being the regular driver (Tramper) of a vehicle who turns up at work to find the vehicle trashed/left in a state by these ‘caring, conscientious’ types THEN call me names. I’ve lost count of the number of times my husband has had to complain about the state of the vehicle he was largely the driver of on his return to work. I take it that, if you’re a driver at all, you’re agency. Or just like having a go at someone who you THINK is lacking in knowledge. You picked the wrong one here. Your rant shows how ill informed you are. Stobart demand that the vehicles are all kept in pristine condition and as has happened to my husband, he has had his knuckles rapped for the mess left by these prestige ‘drivers’. Or for not dieselling up/washing the vehicle/mess in the cab ie food wrappers, bottles of urine, dodgy marks on the bed/windows etc. Don’t get me wrong he has soon put the moron giving him a hard time in their place by being honest and truthful. He won’t take crap for something that is not his fault. Be in his position and then you can quote and criticise me. Yes I know how haulage works- if the wheels aren’t turning then the vehicle aint earning but when drivers are told that trampers motors are NOT used when the evidence is there then the fault lies with office numpties who lie. Have you ever been lied to by so many people? Probably can’t distinguish between lies and reality. The company is unbelievable. And my husband was told last Friday that less than a month after he finally got away from stobart that they are now taking on trampers at Goole as they are at Stoke. If the various lies and rumours are to be believed! I am so relieved that he got away from the bunch of idiots and is now working for a real haulage company who do not have a string of morons to ring around just to let someone know that you are going to be late. It only takes 1 person to be informed in a transport office not dial-a-prat. Talk about job creation for simpletons. Yes I know that drivers do not own the vehicles, I am not stupid. But they do own the personal belongings inside the cab that agency take for granted is theirs for the taking. Believe me, a lot of what happens with agency goes way beyond the odd mirror. Try totalled or damaged so off the road for weeks or better still hit a bridge that had several warnings beforehand and cause damage running into many hundreds of thousands or as quoted to my husband by a manager, millions. Not so good now eh■■? That was agency AND Polish. I rest my case. Next ill informed comment and criticism please…Btw doesn’t sponsorship work by a COMPANY sponsoring a sporting team Not the other way round. Why would a sport team who NEED money sponsor a multi million pound company who want but don’t need money? I’m not into sport so really am not interested in the details of it. Just understand a bit about life and how sponsorship USUALLY works.

waynedl:
I believe that the sponsorship isn’t actually costing them anything due to the teams sponsoring the trailers, which pays for the sponsorship of the rugby.

And blaming agency drivers for any damage is just stupid and childish, and saying they don’t care is even worse. An agency driver who takes off a mirror will most likely not be welcome back at the firm, a full time driver that does it would get a slap on the wrist.

Also, if they need a load shifting and that’s the only truck in the yard, it’s going out, I admit though that a tramper should know before hand due to the amount and expense of gear kept in the wagon, but it’s their wagon afterall so it’s got to earn money which it doesn’t do sat in the yard.

In the words of michael winner…Calm down dear!

Oh I’m calm dear. Just get annoyed with ill informed idiots trying to belittle me. They really should get back to brown nosing and greasing round stobart. Dave doesn’t need me defending him, he is more than capable. He is busy working for one of the many companies currently taking work from stobart so he does not have time to show his feelings about a mickeymouse haulage company on here. Or anywhere else for that matter  Embrace the concept of freedom of speech. It’s rather liberating you know. And as I said before, its not only drivers affected by a company’s actions.

Ill informed idiots??

Have you ever heard of the carriage return key on your keyboard, it seperates your mass rants and makes them easier to read.

I’ve done tramping, regular truck, cab hopping, shared cab (day / night man) and agency work.
I’ve seen all sides doing stupid things, leaving things a mess, damaging stuff then blaming others etc.

I’ve heard so many times how ‘agency drivers did this, damaged that, left that in a mess, didn’t fuel, stole the diesel etc etc etc’.

I’m now on agency work, have been for 3 weeks, have been on agency’s before, and I and every other agency driver I know, will treat the wagon excellently.

As I said before, if I left a wagon damaged, in a mess, not fueled etc, they just ring the agency and say “don’t send Wayne again”

Everything you’ve said is ■■■■■■■■, and you’re quoting what your husband says / said, so you have NO EXPERIENCE OR KNOWLEDGE of what actually happens.

Have you tried the truck driver wag forum?

Why? Are you running out of hand power :smiling_imp:

Well my friend, yes I am expecting derogatory comments for that one, you’re hardly going to admit to your failings are you? I’ve seen the damage for myself that these apparently careful drivers do. Easily wound up by ppl who know what they’re talking about aren’t you. Take a chill pill if you’re ‘driving’ or lay off the redbull. Or do you just sit at the roadside in a car dreaming? Don’t tell me what to do as you will get it back.   Your cage is well and truly rattled eh? Never mind.

Fileep:

Cruella1965:

I hope my wife comes on here the next time I get upset and tell all the other naughty drivers/employers off for me.

In the words of michael winner…Calm down dear!

Everything you’ve said is [zb], and you’re quoting what your husband says / said, so you have NO EXPERIENCE OR KNOWLEDGE of what actually happens.

Have you tried the truck driver wag forum?

Of course you have, because your husband showed you a trashed cab or whatever and said ‘look what the nasty agency guy did’ :unamused:

And, as for being wound up by someone who knows what they’re talking about, I’ll let you know when someone comes along.

I’m not saying all agency drivers are good, same as I’m not saying all full time drivers are good, but if an agency driver is bad, they’re not usually invited back a 2nd time, and there’s a limited amount of firms around, so eventually, the bad ones will end up out of work or working for someone nobody else will.

The thing you forget, is how often your husband was out of the truck, an agency driver was in it, and there were no comments about the mess, the damage, the lack of fuel etc, because the job was done properly.

Now, once again, this is a Professional Drivers forum, not a wife and girlfriend of Professional drivers forum, that’ll be elsewhere

I enjoyed reading the rant,…made me laugh, i suppose the next one is scheduled for a similar time next month ■■?

My dad was a driver for over 40yrs and an assessor for over 20 and he said that most agency were a waste of space who would comply while with him then go out and guess what? Back they come with damage. Thats if the vehicle was driveable. Or leave the cab in a total mess for someone else to clean. I used to help my dad as a kid both with trailers, yes including roping and sheeting, handballing, building trailers up not just the easy bits that pass for hard work these days and paperwork pre and post tachos, the only thing I didn’t do is drive. Well not his anyway  . The job fascinated me so do not tell me that I have no idea cos yes I have been there etc etc. Mock if you like but a lot of drivers aren’t worth their licence no matter who they work for. Know alls who lie and pretend that they are something special. We all know at least 1 like that  .

Cruella, if ALL agency are bad, and ALL employed drivers are good then what about someone like me, (and many of my colleagues) who have a full time job working for a large co (not stobbies) with an i-dotting and t-crossing fetish, who also do agency shifts elsewhere? Do we suddenly become unprofessional and start damaging things just because we are temporary for the day? Certainly in our yard it is a small minority of employed drivers who wreck things and leave vehicles un-refuelled and in a ■■■■ state. We were that strict on agency drivers having accidents that it was pointed out to management that it wasn’t equal treatment to ban an agency driver on his first accident whilst our own drivers would have to go through the disciplinary process.

I wonder if that mess was done by the guys who drive full time most of the vehicles I had to drive as agency to replace them  because over few years of my agency work I could count on my own fingers vehicles which were clean up to my standard

You’re as much full of ■■■■ as the ‘stories’ of them nasty agency drivers :unamused:

Get real woman, you live in storyville, in real life a good portion of the vehicles on the road are driven by agency drivers, so if these stories were true, half would be off the road for weeks at a time being repaired, fumigated, ran out of fuel etc.

No BS just the truth and you don’t like it. Well that’s your problem. I know the truth, I was there and know what I’m talking about. What’s up? No KFCs open or blokes for you to eye up. Or has your blow up trixie got a hole that you can’t fill or repair  The only BS is coming from you. As I said try to intimidate someone who will run off to watch Friends or girly stuff. No I’m not a drip but I’m certainly not blokelike and not going to be talked to by a useless muppet who has a VERY big or probably very tiny problem. You’re like those little dogs that hang on to prove a point. So keep patting yourself on the head everytime you attempt a put down but you are the epitome of why a lot of British people think that HGV drivers are scum. Something that I have fought to dispel the myth of then I encounter a clown like you. Bullied as a child were you and trying to get revenge or a small ‘man’ with a small mind and over inflated ego? Next…Why has my husband’s redundancy and that of others provoked so much anger from you? ANYONE affected are free to air their views. I’m affected so I was merely airing my views. Have you or do you work for stobart? Have you been affected by the way they treat people? Probably not. As an agency driver you more than some should appreciate how much you are treated like a 3rd rate citizen. Maybe you need a therapist or anger management. Or just to learn some people skills. As for storyville, that accolade remains firmly yours. Can’t you cope with someone who knows the score? Silly little man. Did you have to Google some terms to big yourself up so you look as if you know what you’re talking about or you been sitting on granpappy’s knee listening to his stories? Now off to bed you trot to dream about being a real and proper driver. Whats up wouldn’t stobart give you a job? Were you the driver on Traffic Cops a few years back with the high heels on when stopped by the police■■? I’ll stop the grief when you do :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: .

I’m not saying that all agency drivers are bad. It’s just that my dad said that most he assessed didn’t care as they merely moved on to other agencies if they were told not to come back and the agency sacked them. My daughter worked for an agency so we know how they work. They sacked her so they could get 2 on apprenticeships. She saw it advertised rather stupidly on facebook. Yet they previously praised her for being a good worker. Obviously I know that as a driver you need realistic and consistent work unless you’re coming up to retirement or fiddling benefits. Not all agency drivers at stobart did cause damage or leave a mess. But a lot did. Why should my husband have to clean up after someone else when he left the cab clean. Admittedly when he complained to office staff, the ones who did say anything blamed agency but they have a fair quota of night/day drivers who are lazy slobs. They also had a night tramper who was that filthy that other drivers refused to take his out unless someone else cleaned it first. I guess it may have been easier to blame agency drivers but as they do lie frequently we will never know now. My comments may have seemed as if I was speaking generally but Waynedl obviously has a real problem with me so I was just firing comments back aimed at HIM. If it is a bloke. I apologise if you or anyone other than that idiot took it as a personal attack, it was not meant to be. I resent being called a liar when I know what experiences I have had in life and have met drivers including my ex who was a compulsive liar and fantasist. I won’t go into detail but even people he worked for came to realise he was a liar and got rid of him. Suffice it to say that when I left him in 2005 he told a guy at Castle Cement at Clitheroe that I had died. He also told my mum that his mum had died to try to get sympathy. She hasn’t even now. And he did a bit of work for an agency a fair few years ago. Drove for Moores at Wetherby then for another a couple of years ago for stobart before they were daft enough to take him on properly. So excuse me for despising liars and storytellers. Take a look at other forums such as MAT or International driving in the 80s. I came to this to find things for my dad as he lost touch with drivers and saw this particular forum. Maybe I’m not a driver but stobart have really narked a lot of people off. So I was only going to read things to my husband but felt compelled to respond. If waynedl or anyone else has a problem with that then that really is their problem and putting it politely they can sod off  Stobart one way or another stir feelings up and not usually positively which is a shame cos they could have been a good and great company with a little effort but like most big companies they are too greedy. As it is, even my husband’s new boss has taken work off them. Or am I lying about that too! Absolutely not. I’ll point you in his direction if you like. I can prove EVERYTHING that I have said on here but why should I?
