Blaming agency drivers? Saying they don’t care? Childish and stupid? Really■■? Try being the regular driver (Tramper) of a vehicle who turns up at work to find the vehicle trashed/left in a state by these ‘caring, conscientious’ types THEN call me names. I’ve lost count of the number of times my husband has had to complain about the state of the vehicle he was largely the driver of on his return to work. I take it that, if you’re a driver at all, you’re agency. Or just like having a go at someone who you THINK is lacking in knowledge. You picked the wrong one here. Your rant shows how ill informed you are. Stobart demand that the vehicles are all kept in pristine condition and as has happened to my husband, he has had his knuckles rapped for the mess left by these prestige ‘drivers’. Or for not dieselling up/washing the vehicle/mess in the cab ie food wrappers, bottles of urine, dodgy marks on the bed/windows etc. Don’t get me wrong he has soon put the moron giving him a hard time in their place by being honest and truthful. He won’t take crap for something that is not his fault. Be in his position and then you can quote and criticise me. Yes I know how haulage works- if the wheels aren’t turning then the vehicle aint earning but when drivers are told that trampers motors are NOT used when the evidence is there then the fault lies with office numpties who lie. Have you ever been lied to by so many people? Probably can’t distinguish between lies and reality. The company is unbelievable. And my husband was told last Friday that less than a month after he finally got away from stobart that they are now taking on trampers at Goole as they are at Stoke. If the various lies and rumours are to be believed! I am so relieved that he got away from the bunch of idiots and is now working for a real haulage company who do not have a string of morons to ring around just to let someone know that you are going to be late. It only takes 1 person to be informed in a transport office not dial-a-prat. Talk about job creation for simpletons. Yes I know that drivers do not own the vehicles, I am not stupid. But they do own the personal belongings inside the cab that agency take for granted is theirs for the taking. Believe me, a lot of what happens with agency goes way beyond the odd mirror. Try totalled or damaged so off the road for weeks or better still hit a bridge that had several warnings beforehand and cause damage running into many hundreds of thousands or as quoted to my husband by a manager, millions. Not so good now eh■■? That was agency AND Polish. I rest my case. Next ill informed comment and criticism please…Btw doesn’t sponsorship work by a COMPANY sponsoring a sporting team Not the other way round. Why would a sport team who NEED money sponsor a multi million pound company who want but don’t need money? I’m not into sport so really am not interested in the details of it. Just understand a bit about life and how sponsorship USUALLY works.
waynedl:
I believe that the sponsorship isn’t actually costing them anything due to the teams sponsoring the trailers, which pays for the sponsorship of the rugby. And blaming agency drivers for any damage is just stupid and childish, and saying they don’t care is even worse. An agency driver who takes off a mirror will most likely not be welcome back at the firm, a full time driver that does it would get a slap on the wrist.
Also, if they need a load shifting and that’s the only truck in the yard, it’s going out, I admit though that a tramper should know before hand due to the amount and expense of gear kept in the wagon, but it’s their wagon afterall so it’s got to earn money which it doesn’t do sat in the yard.
