Drive on after blowout?

I was coming back from leeds to sheffield on the M1 I checked
my mirrors and moved out from lane 1 to over take a slower
truck then when I checked my mirrors to move back in to lane 1
the rear most tyre on the trailer on the passenger side was like a
Catharine wheel I pulled up on the hard shoulder and phoned work
up. It took 3 hours to do and the fitter was old and coughing had
me doing all the prising which I did not mind as he would have
croked it it was that bad lol. Anyway it was light now and I could
see where I had scratched the tarmac to I had come to a stop
luckily the wheel cover was cracked a little but secure and not
rubbing to get me back to base. Later ATS came out to sign off
on the job ect.

My tyre was still on but will take the above advice if tyre is in road
ect as I once had a container lorry have a midlift tyre explode and I
was behind him on the A1 it came flying at me managed to avid any
damage to my truck thankfully and no accidents
