DPD,Hinckley

The cost of a full load of mobile phone chips or computers would be millions. If drivers have a regular pattern of habits,i can see how managers get nervous.
Talking in cafes, people can hear what you do and where.Maybe why no stopping is their rule.

I work for them at Oldbury

This you by any chance Dave

I worked a few shifts for DPD on agency out of the Redscar depot nr Preston. Trunking down to the hub in Smethwick.

Easiest job I’ve ever done. 2 1/2 hrs drive, then four hours sat in the canteen or drivers lounge watching telly. Then assigned my return trl number, hitch up and back to Preston. Simples.

Bieng trying to find out who’d parked that in the health centre ,cant they make an appointment like everyone else

If you can’t stop for a coffee and a pee when you want, i think the job is a waste of time and not only that it’s against your human rights. Someone should take the miserable ■■■■■■■■ to court IMHO.

No all I know it happened at 7.20 am and it was a new 63 plate truck running solo between the hubs in Smethwick and Oldbury (you start in Oldbury on return drop trailer at Smethwick and run back to Oldbury Solo)
and that’s 6 now either broken and being repaired by Merc or written off apparently hit black ice but driving past the area myself as its between our Smethwick and Oldbury sites the track into the building is a little straight as in drifted off road but the investigation should tell all.

Keep an eye out on the universal jobmatch website (Jobcentre, gov.uk there are that many names).

Glad i’m not the only one who found the operation at the hub fascinating .

It was a pain though waiting for access as you had to go into the main hub to get paperwork and you need a pass to get in. So you were reliant on one of there own guys to let you in. And if you had a good feed in the canteen, the climb up the spiral staircase at hub 1 to the traffic office could be challenging. Always seemed such a strange place to put a very busy traffic office to me on the top of a building accessed by an external spiral staircase.

If your ever there again there is a lift enter the main building right by the door saves the heart attack takes you right up to the office desk.
