Double decker curtainsiders and strapping

Drive carefully, whilst you continue to look for a better job that doesn’t put your life at risk every day for less money available elsewhere for safer work. :bulb:

Have always looked at the top deck and wondered how it would fly around (unless full) if we had an accident.

Only straps available on ours and they do pose risks especially to forklift drivers as you can’t see how well the pallet is strapped.

Working at height - ours have a solution. Sign a bit if paper saying don’t climb to top deck, then give no solutions if you need to. “But, you signed this so we’re not responsible if you fall off doing your job”.

DD trailers are not better for environment as even empty they take a lot more pulling thus more fuel etc.

DDs on pallet system work are rarely empty as they take full loads to and from the hub; this is the very essence of a pallet system. You can get 26 pallets on the bed of a standard trailer; some can be doubled up, but a top deck gives space for 18/20 more. Fuel consumption, fully laden is not much different to a standard artic.
