On a dc or mway, yes. I give way at junctions etc and stop/switch off engine if the Pall Bearer is walking in front. One thing that does annoy me though is when one of the cortege blocks the adjacent lane to stop people overtaking. Without sounding “waysis” this appears popular with gypsy funerals.

As above really.I always hold my collar for a few minutes after a hearse has passed (or until I see an ambulance or four legged animal) it’s an old superstition my grandfather taught me years ago
Lived with my aunt and uncle in mid 80’s (uncle was trucker for p&o) and they did the hold onto collar till you see ambulance or 4 legged animal, never heard it mentioned anywhere until now .
Hold you collar , never swallow , till you see an ambulance or a four legged animal.
I remember when I was a teenager, and working for the local bakery. We were at a shop one day, and the driver, Bill was his name, removed his cap when a cortege went past. I’ll never forget that.
Old Bill will be long gone now, but that memory still lives with me to this day some 30+ years later.
Like most, dual carriageway or motorway with reduced speed, but single carriageway, I wait and follow out of respect. If I see a cortege coming towards me and the street is narrow, I always let them through first.
Ken.
I past one a couple of years ago on my Fireblade, twice the speed limit and on one wheel! When I got home my missus went ape and said the least I could have done was show her Mother some respect!
