Do we flash foreign drivers in?

Are Stobrats drivers under instruction to not be courteous? I don’t recall one flashing me in or thanking me. Ever.

I am of the its courteous to give a friendly flash.

if they ignore me so what I for that split second am the bigger man, everyone is just earning a crust at the end of the day irrespective or race/gender.

not to mention half the ‘english’ trucks you will flash are probably being driven by non English makes it farcical in any case.

I just don’t have time to check passports. I don’t always have time to flash because so many pull in before I consider them ‘in front’.

SuperMultiBlue:
I’ve flashed a couple and not received any dancing indicators in return.

Working nights and when I’m on an early start I hardly get any thanks from British truck drivers during the day but on nights its pretty much a universal thing we all do.

Keep on doing it. If they don’t flash don’t worry about it.

I’m always flashing every body in…

Remember the highway code rules 110 and 111 regarding flashing…

I have driven a car and nearly caused an accident in other European countries due to flashing…they do stick to the rule.

But do trucks when they are back on their home soil reverse the flashing procedure.

Yes eric rambler . im not flashing anyone til they are past my braking zone too .

Would be much more sense if stopped flashing them in …

And flashing meant F$¥€ OFF , you are pulling in too soon

Not quite sure what you are saying but in France lorry drivers definitely flash each other in. The worst offenders for not thanking you are the Spanish, but I still flash them in.

A car coming up behind you may flash their headlights to let you know that they are going to overtake you, and a lorry may indicate right to say that it is safe to overtake him. However, as always, you must use your own judgement.

Fairly new pass here, 6 months… still wet behind the ears.

Do we flash non-british trucks in and out? Personally, I feel like I don’t want to. Just want to get the general consensus. Also, the irish… yes or no?

:open_mouth: Seriously mate, you’re a new driver and out of all the questions you could have asked, you ask something like that?

Ok, I’ll go with it. Do you include Northern Irish, or just drivers from the republic??
Also have you thought it all through… What if it’s a Brit driver,… on a Dutch motor for example.?

Ok what you do is this.
Wait to he gets level with your window, and attract his attention, (don’t worry he will see you it will be a left hand drive) stick your head out of window and shout ‘‘Zijn jullie Nederlanders’’ if he is he will say ‘‘Ja’’ …so don’t flash him in, :bulb:
(bloody johnny foreigners coming over here)
Now you will know if he’s Brit he will say with a puzzeled look ‘‘You what mate’’…, so yeh you guessed it flash him in…
…you’re welcome :sunglasses:

Or you could just concentrate on your driving and stop worrying about ■■■■ stupid things that do not matter a ■■■■ :exclamation: :bulb: :unamused:

I find this too, most likely a company policy thing.

I flash everyone in always have done from the day I passed my test. I treat people the same.

Anyway my Popcorn has run out someone go get me some more please I don’t want to miss anything lol

Tried it again today. Flashed an oirish artic in on the A55 eastbound. Totally blanked and ignored. I’m now going to stick to my guns. UK plates only.

But every chance the driver is as English as a TV Meerkat.

(Says the man with the Polish surname)

Have you got the mental age of a six year old or something?

No wonder the English are disliked all over the world.

Must admit, there are far bigger things to worry about in this world

Meanwhile yesterday you let someone else fight your battles to prove (and fail) your NOT a racist and didnt supply any reason for me to think I was wrong.
Hang on. A direct question asked and ignored and then the same mindless BS getting trotted out. Who does THAT remind me of?

I don’t really flash anybody in unless they are struggling. Being a 52mph dawdler, it gets a bit boring after a while flashing every man in.

+1

I’m generally a non flasher too. I’m limited to 90kmph but usually cruise at 85kmph.

I only flash the strugglers in and only when they’re a quarter of a mile in front but still struggling and looking in their mirror 5 times a second to see if they’re past yet. Bless 'em.

I usually find that folk have helped themselves to every millimetre of my visibility before I have chance to flash them in. But folk on UK plates are no better than anyone else. Caravanners probably give you the most space. Audi drivers seem to be so desperate for your lane that they don’t mind trying to take the corner of your bumper along for the ride.
