one good thing i have found out thou if you are stopped for speeding there is no proof if the police/vosa want to look at the info, the readout will only say you have been doing eg: 10 to 20 mph for 2 hrs of the day 20 to 30mph for 3hrs of the day 30 to 40mph for 1 hr of the day and so on.they can not tell what speed you was doing at a certain time of day
Not quite right. What you are looking at is a ‘speed profile report.’ All that does is tell you how long the vehicle has been travelling at a particular speed on a given day. The Vehicle Unit stores the speed for every second of movement up to a total period of 24 hours. You cannot print this record out, only download it, takes approximately 20 minutes and you will need a Company, Control or Workshop card in addition to a ‘downloading tool.’

I can read my card (I’m an ex IT man) I can read start, finish POA driving rest but cannot find any reference to speed info on it
Jim, you won’t find references to speed on the card as the speed file is only stored on the VU
Wheel Nut:
Can you not adjust the digital tacho to the speed you want a warning like the old analogue?
You could adjust the speed at which the warning lamp came on but it was generally set at 40 mph / 62 kmh to give you a another visible aid on A roads
I understand that it can be adjusted, but not by the driver. It has to be done by the workshop, on a computer.
There is a limit to how far they can adjust it to, 93kmh I believe.
