You cannot now change the record to show rest when other work has already been recorded, take two printouts for the last working day and any days that will have been wrongly recorded as other work and write an explanation on one of them then staple them together so they don’t get separated or lost.

Hand one set of printouts in when your card is downloaded and keep one set of printouts with you in case you get stopped at a roadside check.

Thanks for the advice. Will do the printouts tomorrow.

And ignore any break warnings partway into your next shift. Well, unless you’ve done 4.5 hours driving since the start of the shift obviously.

If you did for example 2.5 hours driving at the end of your last shift it will warn you of a break due 1 hour 45 minutes into the next shift, again at 2 hours and then regularly until you take 45 minutes of break because the driving timer will not have been reset with it on other work.

Unless you are actually going into the depot tomorrow to work a shift don’t go in just to remove the card and do printouts. It will technically be work and could mess up your weekly rest. If you are not due back in until Monday wait until then to get the card and do the printouts, it won’t make the problem any worse. Better not to turn a minor issue into something more if you got stopped by a by the book VOSA guy.
