Weve got a lad at our place who is forever trying to push in at places and upsetting folk, the lads a ■■■■■■■ nuisance as it sometimes causes ■■■■ for us just because we had the same logo on our shirt.
He’s due a crack, just hope I am around when he gets one
No excuses or bad manners IMO
If I were in your shoes I would have refused to let him go in front out of principle for the way he approached the situation.
I’ve got no problem with someone getting a quick pallet off before me, I let a van go infront of me this morning at my first drop. He was a decent bloke and we were chatting for a bit so it was no problem. If he had come at me demanding he got unloaded before me it would have been another story.

Brilliant
Years ago, (15-20 yrs) anyone severely in my face would be taking home a copy of my knuckles on their chin.
Nowadays, I just try to let it go, as society in general has it in for us on the road. ( I have my limits though)…
Have to say it happened to me once at a cash and carry, then they started to pull everything with just one pallet round me, as that meant waiting for 20 vehicles to be unloaded I was not best pleased, when I finally got on the pad they decided to go for lunch, exit stage left and left them to it. Hours later they were ringing up for the stuff, deperate and HAD to get it that day, I rolled back there at 7pm to find two very miffed staff who had to wait for yours truly to return with their stuff…all two pallets of it. Never had a problem there after that.
bald bloke:
It’s a bit like having a basket full of stuff in the co-op and someone is behind with a pint of milk, I’ll let the person go if he doesn’t make a fuss but if he says can I push in then it’s no.
I had the same the other week, at checkout with a “big shop” on board when I noticed a really sweet old lady behind me with just a pint of milk. “Is that all you’re buying?” I asked to which she replied “yes” with an expectant look on her face. “Pity” I said “I’m gonna be ages with this lot!”
Years ago I was waiting for another truck to finish and move off from a goods in door, as he did, this knob in a van went charging down to the door totaly disregarding the fact that I was allready reversing to the same point, so I just kept reverving and came to a stop about 10 foot from him totaly trapping him in as the door was situated between 2 wharehouses with only 1 way in or out, hence reversing in.
He comes up to me giving it all the crap about me having to get out of his way, to which I pointed out that I was on site first, and then he’s saying he only had one parcel and he’d got 100s drops to do, should’ve waited and carried it down then I replied, then I told him it was 26 pallets,to which he really threw his dummy out, slamming his van doors sitting and revving his engine and hitting his horn. this caused a manager to come out and tell him to pipe down, all the while me and the flt driver were just carrying on nice and steady.
On the flip to that, I was tipping a 52 pallet load on a different job, this 7.5tner came flying in to this yard, driver hops out, and goes charging into the wharehouse just after the flt driver, a minute later he’s back out moaning like a good un, “(zb)flt drive says I’ve got to wait as I’m not booked in for 2 hrs”, now I thought this odd as the flt driver here was always relaxed about delivery times with me. well the 7.5 tonner had a tail lift so I says to the guy why dont you use the tail lift and unload yourself. he walked to his truck, I thought to get his gloves but no he drove off. At that point the flt drive came out and over to my truck and asked where the other lorry had gone, i said the driver just came out and cleared off.
Now what the flt driver had actually said was, I’ll have word with artic driver to see if he minds me doing you straight away, but remember that you are a couple off hours early, I wouldnt care if he’d have lifted a pallet from the 7.5 tonner nice to be asked though dont allways get that consideration.
Its a strange world
Anyone who has delivered to Selfridges at Hams Hall will have seen this all the time. They usually have 3 bays working and you have to know who is in front of you so you know when it’s your turn. Best not fall asleep though.
For a long time they used to allow people with parcels to carry them in, but then they stopped it because of some trouble. So you never knew how long you would have to wait - you could be lucky and in and out in half an hour, or it could be a couple of hours.
You would see van, and even car drivers with a parcel trying to jump the queue but they had to wait like the rest of us.
ezydriver:
Is he going to turn over the Iranian Embassy whilst you’re asleep as well?
Next time, phone vosa, tell them you just saw them possibly being loaded over their limit
Win. As they sit outside gates for 3 hours
How funny, professional drivers eh lol.
