They shut the carpet job and depot in Zeebrugge down, but the UK based plant job is still going.

Verhoek NL took the carpet haulage over.

I did carpet runs for Brinton’s.

Aye?
I had a few shags on that carpet job.

I hated doing carpets. I’m too little

Carpet burns allegedly.

On the Brit-European UK deliveries, I would imagine the showroom or shop access on some locations would have been a nightmare, did some had to be done before customers arrived to block the car park or if the delivery arrived when the car park at the back was full, did the cars have to be moved or the manager coned off an area to offload in?

They were a nightmare! Parking, finding anywhere with carpet-length unloading space behind the trailer, getting anyone to help… If you were REALLY lucky, they might even have had a forklift with a carpet pole - if it could get anywhere near the truck, that is!

I did a few carpet drops in London, the side streets and some main roads were not built for the size of lorries, originally they were designed for horse and carts, some of the old fashioned dairies in London are from the Victorian era when on milk cage deliveries.
